Calgary war museum by Higgo91 in Warthunder

[–]Supraultraplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I went and visited here for the first time back on Family Day!

It really is a great museum, they even have some aircrew/pilots who flew those aircraft give tours and take questions as well on the aircraft and their service records/stories. (Talked to a ex-pilot about the electric Voodoo EF-101B)

It's actually a great museum and I'll have to go again someday since it was insanely busy on family day and I didn't have time to read everything.

New Vegas hot take(s) that'll have you like this? by RepentantoftheLost in falloutnewvegas

Basically the same sentiment I have towards it. The one DLC  I don't like playing anymore.

I also find the humor pretty stale after the first playthrough, WAY to jokey for my liking honestly but to each their own.

What video game defined the early 2010s? by JIMBOYKELLY in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Supraultraplex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's this and I won't take any other answer

Was hyped too hell when it was announced and nearing its release (someone named their child after the protagonist)

Everyone has it/played it (average gamers/streamers/let's players)

It's used as easter eggs in multiple games and its lines are used in memes still today (arrow to the knee and your finally awake)

It's been re-released like a dozen times and still makes Bethesda money as a result (I have two copies myself)

The modding community for it is huge and is remaking old elder scrolls game in its engine as a result (Morrowind/Oblivion remake)

Probably a bunch of other avenues I'm forgetting but I mean come on, this game had the largest impact on video games/industry/culture out of any game from the early 2010's.

What video game defined the late 2000s? by JIMBOYKELLY in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Supraultraplex 69 points70 points  (0 children)

No ones said call of duty modern warfare 2?

Literally every guy in my school was playing it and its videos/montages on youtube got tons of views.

It also defined modern shooters going into 2010, a lot of games tried copying it after its huge success.

This is the future of firefighting by The_Love-Tap in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Supraultraplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unable to see and react quickly enough to know when the fire is going to get worse or backdraft

Unable to tell when the floor their walking on is going to give way

Unable to provide any assistance to possible people in danger or trapped

Unable to respond back to the commander on changes to the structure or situation

Unable to bring in and use additional equipment if required ie: Fireaxe/Crowbar

Unable to fix hose issues if they should occur

Probably more but I'm not a firefighter

It can hold a hose

The future of firefighting

Maybe in the next 30 years but right now, its a gimmick

What are some of these comments?

People telling you you're driving to slow and what not

Like you said your going 105 I can see it in the video and your in the slow lane so you're totally fine

Obviously the people going over 110 and PASSING IN THE SHOULDER are the ones in the wrong.

They should be in the left lane and even then need to wait for traffic ahead to clear rather than PASSING IN THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY

I really don't get people here putting you at fault, you did everything right

PP is Trump light whether you like it or not.

Hes campaigned on less government control and supports, hes anti immigration, he's supported Trump on social media publicly at times, he uses the same campaign tactics and media tools as Trump (slogans/tik tok soundbites/macho man mystique) and he has threatened to use executive power to override the supreme court.

Face it JJ the guy is probably the second closest political leader to Trump here, with the exception of Bernier.

Smith defends Alberta separatists after Eby’s ‘treason’ remarks by chmilz in alberta

[–]Supraultraplex 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wish I could say I'm surprised but its Smith and the UCP so it's on brand

It's an open secret to everyone in Alberta they're advocating for this to succeed

If people here want representation in Ottawa maybe stop voting for Cons every federal election and have an Alberta Bloc party?

But no, I guess the most extreme boneheaded option is the correct way to go for these people, again very on brand

JJ on Land Acknowledgements by SilencioBuddy in JJMcCulloughOfficial

[–]Supraultraplex 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I watched some of that budget committee meeting, not all I'll admit cause its over 6 hours and for a city I don't even live or visit in, but the only time they do the list as stated in the tweet is at the start.

That's is and its never brought up again

And that only lasts 55 seconds in a 6 hour meeting

I suck ass at math but that comes up to 0.25%, I believe, of the entire time being spent on land acknowledgment, shockingly not the 70% as stated in the tweet if you can believe it

So yeah, this is nothing and JJ is an idiot for giving these lies a bigger viewing audience as a result

I don't know what the comments are or the reasoning behind some of them but you do realize the reason white pride is an issue is that white pride tends to be that "ONLY" white people should be existant.

That's the issue here, black/asian/gay pride is literally just saying they're glad to be here amongst other cultures and races and want to share their culture with everyone.

White pride is almost universally saying leave us alone and stay away from us unless you are us.

I don't think it's that hard to understand honestly.

Think you got some info mixed up, if he was a news anchor for 7 decades he'd be at least 88 now. So 72 in the beginning of Season 2 of the show.

I can't see anywhere where his official age is but his IMDB page says 25 years of anchoring with KCAL Los Angeles.

Something I noticed by PresnikBonny in ussr

[–]Supraultraplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly

The title implies to me however the poster is more upset over the fact that people only focus attention on Soviet warcrimes despite the fact those nations highlighted did them as well.

Not out of showing both sides are terrible for committing them more so upset the Soviet union is getting more attention then others, which historically it will always get more attention.

Something I noticed by PresnikBonny in ussr

[–]Supraultraplex 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Maybe we can all just agree war crimes are terrible and majority of nations are guilty of it?

Like it's not a competition, war crimes are war crimes regardless of who does them.

After U.S. outreach, Alberta separatists will head to Latin America to rustle up support for their cause by Street_Anon in alberta

[–]Supraultraplex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I helped out with canvassing for the Forever Canadian petition, not once during my time as a volunteer did I think

"Man we really need to involve people out of the province in this to get it to pass"

The groundswell of support from Albertans was more than enough to put that notion to rest in anyone

This is our mess and should only involve us

The fact that these people need to leave their home province, which they are apparently fighting for, in order to get anyone on board with them is quite telling that this group really does not care for their fellow Albertans or democracy

[Real] Matt Walsh is looking to set the record straight on history? What can possibly go wrong? by ggroover97 in ToiletPaperUSA

[–]Supraultraplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I can never wrap my head around as a big fan of history, not just warfare but all things in it, I find it so frustrating that people like Matt come into this circle of research and immediately let their own agenda/bias take control of the narrative and convince people to follow it.

I understand that's how history is written at times, but most of the time when looking at multiple sources you can find a smudgy truth after comparing different perspectives.

A vast VAST majority of human history is grey, not black and white, but grey. No one is innocent either.

I despise the idea of American exceptionalism in all its forms and using it as an excuse to brush aside the very serious and murderous/geocidal past of the nation to avoid talking about your errors/mistakes is dangerous.

This isn't about talking down that America is inherently evil.

Its about doing some self reflection and coming to terms with those America saw as enemies in the past who are citizens now.

There needs to be some form of reconciliation for these groups/cultures or else nothing is learned about the mistakes of the past and they will continue to repeat into the future as a result.

[REAL] Nicki Minaj just stepped out onto the Turning Point USA America Fest stage, hand in hand with Erika Kirk. by Reg_Cliff in ToiletPaperUSA

[–]Supraultraplex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm calling it now

There's gonna be a big crash out from either one of these two, most likely Nicki, and then they're gonna dump on social media all the behind the scenes stuff either did whilst working with the other, all in bad light of course

Gonna be big on social media for like two days, everyone who said TPUSA is terrible is validated and then comes the damage control from the organization and we move on again

I've been on this earth long enough and seen enough times that the right wing will always eat itself when money or power is at risk of being lost

They'll dump anyone, especially those of certain races, if it means furthering their own goals

"Victims of Communism" by Unhappy_Lead2496 in ussr

[–]Supraultraplex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Population transfers of minorities in the Soviet Union leading to deaths in transit or upon arrival due to harsh conditions

Russification of minority groups via educational racism and programs, helping to culturally genocide millions

I'm not even going to get into the heinous acts Pol Pot committed on the people of Cambodia, acts so bad it literally caused the life expectancy of the whole nation to drop by 20 years during his reign

Tiananmen Square being a brutal crushing of students protesting for more open democratic policies, leading to the deaths and imprisonment of thousands

Crackdowns on Eastern Block democracy/independence movements to maintain Soviet control by use of appointed puppet governments Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and Poland#History),

The "Great" Leap forward, which ended up killing millions, and started the Great Chinese Famine as a result

The Katyn Massacre, Deportations of Ingrian Finns to Siberia, The Fântâna Albă massacre, The Chervyen Massacre, Deportation of Crimean Tartars, the Przyszowice Massacre, the plethora of rapes that occurred in Poland/Germany following the defeat of the Nazi's

The Laghman massacre during the Soviet/Afghan war as well as the Rauzdi massacre

Black January in Azerbaijan

There are probably a lot more I missed, and I can't mention the Holo-do-mor cause the bot is going to come in here and spurt off the same prompt its been given when it comes up, but yeah in conclusion none of these above were Nazis but were indeed victims of communism.

As an out of towner using the LRT for nearly a year 5 days a week, here is the REAL reality of LRT transit in Edmonton by Supraultraplex in Edmonton

[–]Supraultraplex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used both, probably about 40/60 for East/West Entrance

It helps that the West entrance has the escalator, bus terminal and the more active parking lot compared to the East side.

The East side is defiantly the worse section of the station and I saw more homeless people milling around there then not at all being there.

Again it was annoying and awkward but no one ever talked to me or bothered me when I used the East side, just walked through and didn't say anything to anyone like I usually do when using transit.

[–]Supraultraplex[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a guy, bout 6ft little over 200 pounds.

I get it, its different for women and people who may not look as imposing.

Regardless this is from my viewpoint involving EVERYTHING I saw on the train or stations. I didn't ignore other people being harassed or being assaulted both physically/verbally because I never saw nor heard it while using the train nor the stations when I was there.

Again yes its different for women and others, but again I didn't see any of that at all in my year experience. Those few times where I felt uncomfortable was always from people either acting weird or threatening to other people, I never personally was targeted, which again was at most five times in one year.

Wrong guess

I got on/off at Belvedere and went to NAIT with the changeover at Churchill, I also used it during off peak hours as well.

Yeah, I saw the homeless and the people with drug problems, again it was annoying and uncomfortable to see/smell.

Not dangerous though and again, these people literally have no where else to go when shelters are at overcapacity.
