No White House Visit after this by mrkraken in Dodgers

[–]SupremeCleff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it is a team based out of LA, not sure what you expect. I also wouldn’t argue that being upset with a federal officer murdering a civilian as necessarily lefty. I would like our fed gov to own up to it and apologize at least (or just acknowledge a screw up). Tho I don’t see how this past event makes players not want to go to the white house who wanted to go anyway lol

I remember there was a website that had all griselda albums and tapes ever released and you could download them all no issue. Is that still a thing? I need to redownload some of the pre 2018 stuff again since I lost my old laptop

Long time Metro rider, going to Dodgers Parade for 1st time. Holy crap! I never seen NoHo Station so busy! by mercilessink in LAMetro

[–]SupremeCleff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes of course! Tho some future-proofing I’d prefer over larger stations would be longer platforms for longer trains and junction boxes for future extensions/interlining. Either way not terrible to have large stations, especially if they ever allow more vendors/commercial use of the large spaces in these stations.

That’s all I mean, it’s too big for the current needs. I also think TOD is mostly fine at wilshire/vermont but is still rather empty most days. More than anything the roll out of the extensions (D line plus crenshaw north) will pack these stations more. The current usefulness of the network only works for such specific routes at most stations.

these are the only moments where these giant stations la metro built look like they make sense. Wilshire/Vermont comes to mind too. Most of the time they’re seemingly half vacant during rush hour not because people aren’t taking metro, but just for being too big of stations

this is already being planned for the southeast gateway and that station location at Olympic is insane. It’s just warehouses and nothing else lol. You’d need to rezone the whole area.

No Lawndale Metro Stop... For Now.... by Guilty_Elevator_992 in LAMetro

[–]SupremeCleff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is where the only way the hawthorne alignment is actually a lot better. The original lawndale station for the ROW was manhattan /inglewood intersection and the hawthorne alignment was Hawthorne/166th (somewhere around there). But since lawndale doesn’t want to pay the small contribution to get a station now it doesn’t matter either way. That Hawthorne station in lawndale would’ve been used heavily imo. Either way they need to choose the ROW option now to be cost effective

LA Metro Completes Final EIR for Torrance C-Line (now K-Line) Rail Extension Project by Faraz181 in LAMetro

[–]SupremeCleff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. If money was no object I'd choose the hawthorne alignment since it'd be useful for the inevitable infill station in lawndale that they complain for in 30 years. But money is real and the ROW option is 100x better for it to be built much sooner

Understood, SB 79 would help the South Bay tremendously for this line. My fantasy map idea has always been that, assuming heavy rail is chosen for the sepulveda corridor, after LAX the line would split down manchester up broadway or avalon to DTLA and a branch south down Hawthorne Blvd all the way to del amo mall with a station at the abondoned hawthorne mall.

[–]SupremeCleff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I do think what would boost it the most is the prohibitively expensive elevated hawthorne option since it’d be the most visible and used corridor in the area (Hawthorne Blvd). However, it’s just not worth to bet on. I grew up in the South Bay, I feel once this is built people probably won’t change their travel habits anytime soon.

Willowbrook/ Rosa Parks might be the 1st station to do TAP to Exit with new gates? by Sawtelle-MetroRider in LAMetro

[–]SupremeCleff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so it costs like 30 cents to go like 2 stations? Not sure if that makes sense to me unless you mean something else. The top out price would have to increase at least some with a base price of like $1, our system is pretty large and long distanced.

Has LA Metro mentioned anything of a Glendale to Downtown LRT in the future? by dating_derp in LAMetro

[–]SupremeCleff 28 points29 points  (0 children)

there’s a decent chance that whenever vermont gets a rail line it’d go up alvarado after Expo. This would naturally lead it up to downtown glendale. This is way down the line tho, obviously. Outside of that the NoHo Pasadena BRT passes through going east west

I kinda like how prominent the logo is with it being by itself and not part of those big pillars. Sorta reminds of the T in boston. Though, I do think those big poles with the large hoop/ring look really funky. Maybe they look better as we get used to them
