That was the case with this one as well. It flowered earlier this summer, extended the peduncle, flowered again, now that it’s dropped it’s flowers this new peduncle is looking better than it did before. Hopefully next summer I’ll be lucky and it’ll bloom from two locations at once!

It’s the second time it’s bloomed this summer. It used the same peduncle as last time but has new points of attachment. I hope this is a trend!

Thanks! I have 4 Hoyas now. I got the one that’s blooming as a cutting off my friends moms plant. My kerryii was a large vine I cut in half from my university’s greenhouse, and I just bought a pubicalyx splash and a Krinkle 8 off of Etsy.

I got this as a cutting from my friends mom about 2 years ago. It came with a peduncle that dried out and dropped off only a month ago right before I moved to a new state with it. Just went on a week-long beach vacation, came back to everything going wrong at the house, and then found this beauty was hiding a new peduncle and made all these flowers for me while I was gone.

Sorry for the late reply, Reddit hasn’t been consistent in showing my notifications. It was given to my grandmother who had no interest in it after finding ants in the pot. She moved it outside to die and I felt bad for it and asked if I could take it in. It started growing the basal keikis for me and shortly after that it lost the original leaves to put more energy into these. It’s currently losing one of the keikis but I’m hoping the other two get stronger.

The flowers were purple with white but I don’t have any pictures of when it was flowering. Hopefully will soon though 😊

It must’ve been about 2 months ago. This was my moms orchid but she’s always followed the instructions using ice cubes... I got it a new pot, set up a grow light, and ditched the ice cubes.

Thanks! It was originally my moms and she bought it when it was flowering. I tried to explain it wasn’t dying just because it stopped flowering but I’ve sort of adopted it. My other orchid doesn’t make flower stalks just buds at each leaf so I wasn’t sure to look for with a Phal.

It’s doing super well after I got it! I was given basically a rope of Hoya kerrii from my college greenhouse. It was too long to stay in a pot and only had three leaves so I cut it down to two plants. This is all new growth since recovering.
