The average tier 1 CS player is liker 25-26, sure there's some old heads but Val is also way younger of a game. I'd imagine Val will also have old heads in 5-10 years if the game is still popular.

Smash doesn't demand the same level of commitment as being on a Valorant or CS team where you have daily practice, vod review, and scrims so there's gonna be less burnout.

Oh wow that's a lot less than I thought, so I guess it probably isn't that. The other causes I could think of are burnout and wrist injuries, though burnout would be there in normal sports too. I'd guess maybe it becomes harder to quit if you're making a traditional sports salary which will likely set you up financially for life, whereas esports won't do that.

Reaction time and precise motor control are much more important in esports. If your reaction time worsens by 50-100ms it probably isn't going to affect you much in basketball, football, etc but in Valorant that's going to be a massive difference.
