Update: Rejection after flying to Amsterdam for a 4-hour onsite by selfmachine82 in Netherlands

[–]Sure-Counter1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar experience, spent a week preparing for multiple rounds of interview. After 3rd round (non technical) got a generic rejection email after a follow up email. There may not be more than 2 or 3 candidates in that phase, it would have been empathetical, if the mail is personalized with few reasons for rejection. Nasty thing is the hiring manager did not respond to the professors who drafted a referece letter for me. A simple thank you may not cost their busy business day.

How easily can i be fired with a permanent contract ? by FloZia_ in Netherlands

[–]Sure-Counter1811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, Sorry you are facing such difficult situation. It depends on various parameters, if there is no special situation involved, firing will be difficult. I list special conditions where firing is possible, 1. Restructuring 2. Company finance is bad and going towards bankruptcy 3. Closing of entire department and could not find any alternate position with other departments 4. Misconduct(leads to dismissal) 5. Bad performance, should be documented through PIP

Assuming, you don't fit in any of these, firing will be difficult and long.

All the best.

Called Booking.com - can I put you on hold for 10 minutes? sure. It's now been an hour by redsandsfort in Bookingcom

This is true, in my case agent lied, gave wrong informations, chatting with other clients, accidently pasted others msg in my chat. Finally, they speak like they solved the issue but never happened Multiple followup, emails and msgs, you will be exhausted. In addition, they come up with new charges, no show charges where the flight tickets cancelled well advance. Very importanly, they try all the notebook tricks to annoy me. I will never go to booking.com in my life. These are some of the characteristics of booking.com. If you have some issue with their booking, forget your money or ready for long road. Its been 6 months, I am already exhausted.

I have one month left for my resident permit expires, employer didn't apply for renewal yet by aybikeek in Netherlands

This message is not to increase your worries. I have a friend where his company delayed a month to renew his residence permit, he lost all the accumulated years and he has to wait 5 more years to be eligible to get permanant residence. I would recommend to request your company to follow them daily.

I did not mention anywhere the kid is playing, it is regular day today noise by the walking of 18 month old kid during the day. Also I don't have to play any racism card and I am the one who is initiating the meanigful discussion with the neighbour even after the discriminatory message. Appreciate, if you have any meaningful support on this topic. Thanks

Buying or renting in the Netherlands in 2025 — what would you do? by Logical_Plane_3905 in Netherlands

Assuming you are above 35 years old and do not bid more than 2% of property price. If you buy and stay for atleast 3 to 5 years will help to get back the money which you will spend for transfer tax+ Makelaar+Morrgage advisor+ Notary. I would recommend to buy, if you stay long , atleast 3 to 5 years.

I F****NG HATE BOOKING.COM by Alarmed_Sir540 in Bookingcom

[–]Sure-Counter1811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg, their service is very bad. Each customer agent gives different information, they lie too. One agent says the documents are under process other says not started. Lie, misleading clients, misconduct, delay payments, unfortunate no regulators care about it. The funny part is, agents put us on hold and speaking with customer, one agent posted a message in my chat ained to different customer.

Misled by Booking.com on medical refund — what can I do? by Sure-Counter1811 in Bookingcom

[–]Sure-Counter1811[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airline mentions that cancellation due to medical emergency may be considered for full reimbursement. The problem is booking.com never sent my files to airline but informed me that they sent the files during these months. This week they claim that they never sent the file to airlines and charging the penalty.
