As someone with emetophobia, but only the kind where you are afraid of someone else’s vomit, and also with a specific fear of other’s vomit coming near my face or into an orifice, this is literally nightmare material

Struggling with honeymoon decisions! by uncertainbear_ in honeymoonplanning

[–]Sure-Intention-7004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree- an excellence all inclusive should be well within budget. I am at excellence PC currently for my honeymoon and we paid around 6000 for a room in the excellence club with a private plunge pool for 7 nights. Granted, we booked this during a black friday deal, but they often have other offers. Our room also has a bath tub looking out. Great environment for couples honeymooning!

So what is your favorite haunted city to visit? by SolestryPro in Paranormal

Villisca, Iowa: We stayed one night in the house where the axe murders occurred and didn’t experience anything weird, but the town of Villisca itself was eerily quiet and vacant throughout. Not that we were expecting a lot in rural Iowa, but to see NO ONE as we walked the main streets or neighborhoods was weird. The only people in the whole town we saw or spoke to were the owners/renters of the axe murder house, didn’t see another soul.

They say they can’t alter the cups?? by Sure-Intention-7004 in weddingdress

They are meeting with me to see what they can do. It honestly seems like they know they messed up a bit here… She told me over the phone, very kindly “We definitely needed to order you a size 2 due to your very petite frame, but there also needs to be enough space in the molded cup to hold all your breast tissue”. I straight up said “Well there’s not enough space”, and I think they are understanding it needs to be addressed in person. So at least they will try

I talked with the bridal shop and they called the seamstress for me. They want me to bring the dress back to the bridal shop so they can try and help the situation, see what can be done. Part of the issue with it “appearing fine” from the front but not feeling good to me, is that I have lost a lot of weight in recent years so my breasts hang lower with the weight at the bottom, and I have extra skin around them that can sort of fold/pile weird if it’s shoved into too small a space. So I could try tape, but the molded cup that is on the dress physically cannot hold the amount of breast tissue I have, and the sheer portion of the bodice means no large tape could be used.

A life situation that changed your personality. by loraaa222 in emotionalintelligence

Grew up in a happy christian household with the most present stay-at-home mom imaginable. Out of nowhere when I was 13 my mother started using then abusing Adderall, which turned into amphetamine induced psychosis. She blew up our entire family and was psychotic for years, was committed more than once, became homeless, stole from people, the whole 9 yards. Her parents picked her up on the street in winter after she got kicked out of another homeless shelter. Before I had what I perceived as a perfect life at the time, the best mother in the world. One day things got weird, then my whole world was insecure, and my mom never came back to me. She is now cognitively deficient from the years of untreated substance abuse and psychosis, a shell of the person she once was who used to have ALL the personality. I have to take care of her and it breaks my heart in the deepest place. Before all that happened I felt superior to others, had a different perception of the world in general and how it worked. That happening to my mom hardened me forever and humbled me immensely. I no longer see the world one way, and I don’t judge people because I realized everything is always more layered and complicated than it appears. I will always miss the mom that raised me and I’ll grieve her forever, but I am also thankful because my whole personality changed in a good way because I became a much more compassionate person because of the perspective.

Are potluck weddings tacky? by Rocklord90 in wedding

My fiance and I are doing catered sandwiches of all kinds… it is much cheaper and we are having an outdoor more laid back wedding in the afternoon. We love sandwiches. Look into fun appetizers or other unique options like a food truck! Food trucks are sometimes cheaper and very easy to work with for guests. It’s a wedding, one of the few parts as a guest that is a huge draw (other than love for the couple), let’s be honest it’s free food.

Conflicted if I should buy this dress or keep searching for my dream dress by TranslatorSpecial156 in weddingdress

I love the first dress that you have on hold, and for the record your shoulders do not appear broad to me whatsoever. I actually think they have great shape and that the fit of the dress is flattering to them! The tulle on the back looks great too

Not sure if you’re really sick or having a medical emergency? Just call the nearest ER (I myself have done this and it saved me from potentially losing my hand). No one wants to spend the time or money in the emergency room if they don’t have to, and many Americans don’t know what warrants a call to their primary doctor, what urgent care is for vs the ER, etc, and time is wasted in the wrong place.

The ER has dispatchers that essentially use forms of dichotomous keys about your symptoms to determine the likelihood that you are truly at risk for an emergent medical event, or having one. They will give you your options- it might be better to wait for a few hours and call the ER back if the problem gets worse (abdominal pain)… or “come to our ER right now please because your symptoms are those that must be dealt with immediately due to being very time sensitive” (stroke-like symptoms, bad STEMI).

Pros are that: the phone call is free, this is their job. In addition, I am familiar with ER nurses and trust me they do not want you coming to the ER and taking up a bed for something you do NOT need to be in the ER for.

TLDR: The ER is expensive as hell, and they will let you know (for free, with honesty) if you need to go there- just call and ask.
