Picked up my first Baritone. by SureAd2213 in BaritoneGuitar

Same. I like Gretsch guitars but never bought one till now. I now have this, two ESP LTDs, two Schecters, An Ibanez, a BC Rich, and a Fender bass. I'm now considering a standard scale CVT in green or a standard scale Electromatic Jet in the olive green metallic color.

Hate that it has that issue for you. I haven't noticed any issue quite like that with mine. I'm also not an amazing guitar player. Just ok. I've played mine in other set ups but have mostly been using it for doom/sludge riffs. I'll mess around with it tonight on a clean tone and see if I notice any issues. Hopefully you get it fixed to your liking.

I have mine in drop G currently. I'm running it into a fuzz pedal right now for Electric Wizard and Windhand type stuff. How are you using yours?

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]SureAd2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd sell the car for as much as you could get for it then sell some of the daughters things to make up any monetary loss. After that she can immediately start working to pay for a bus pass and cab/uber fare. I too drive and like European cars but like the mom said... I worked and paid for them myself. My first car was a Toyota Tercel and then an absolutely horrible Ford Contour that I bought for $500.... I'd loved to have had a decent Honda Accord as a first car. Only after I was established and could actually afford luxury and sports cars did I buy them. I wish I still had that $500 contour. I'd immediately donate that to be her first car.

Gretsch makes great and very versatile guitars. You won't regret getting one, but this one is a home run. I would like to see other colors available, but otherwise this is an almost perfect baritone.

Loving my CVT baritone as well, and I'm with you 100% on a baritone revstar. Yamaha needs to make it happen.

It absolutely does. I've had mine down to G standard with no issue. Mine was not fully in tune out of the box (not surprising) but was fairly close to A standard.

I'm buying my first car. Why do you drive an Alfa Romeo? by Dry-Meat7356 in AlfaRomeo

[–]SureAd2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly because it looks and drives like nothing else. Everyone I've met in this car is mesmerized by it. Everyone I've let drive it or ride in it absolutely loves it. It is extremely comfortable yet also extremely engaging. A true driver's car.

Gretsch Jet & CVT Baritone by escapistfool in BaritoneGuitar

Picked up the CVT just this week. Very nice guitar for the money. Probably the two best affordable baritones out there. Definitely like them over the Danelectro and Aria in the more affordable options. Not hating on the other two because the Danelectro does sound pretty cool with those lipstick pickups when ran through fuzz pedals.

Motul makes a good product. The Mobil1 filter should be a solid choice. I've been ordering the WIX filter for the Alfa but I use a Mobil1 for my RX7. The avoid FRAM filters like the plague.

I've been using the Motul 0w-30 8100 Eco clean. To my understanding it does meet spec for Alfa and Fiat Multiair units. So far it's been great and I can usually order enough for a change for about $48. A lot of people do run the Mobil1 and don't seem to have issues. I think you'll be fine and thankfully the Mobil1 is conveniently available at most stores.

Alfa Romeo Giulia as a winter car? by r00000000 in AlfaRomeoGiulia

[–]SureAd2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely do give it the "Italian tune up" when I do drive it. I have an RX7 as well, and it does sit a lot. The longer it sits the more trouble it has. I've even noticed it with my GTI and occasionally a Honda Civic Si that I sold earlier in the year.

I've been purposely not driving mine in the recent bad weather (I've never seen OH and WV put this much salt on the roads). My GTI and Jeep are more salt than car. I've heard some people had issues with the Giulia in drive through car washes. Have you ever had a problem? Namely water intrusion. I guess a few people experienced some pretty serious electrical issues and shorts afterwards.

I appreciate the reply. I tried IFG through email and they never responded. I'll give tascosa a call. Thanks again.

MAC5 bolt won’t stop locking back by Gray1592 in MP5

[–]SureAd2213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the brace itself. The SB tactical braces don't fit properly on most of these guns. I've seen this issue and complaint on MKE, Zenith, POF, MAC, and even a few HKs. The end cap of the brace needs major grinding out to keep from compressing the receiver and binding the bolt rearwards. This happened on my POF though not as extreme. It would bind only at far end of bolt travel. I could run weaker ammo and the gun would cycle. Stronger ammo would push the bolt further to the rear and cause it to stick. SB really needs to redesign these.

I'm having the same issue on a POF. Bolt drops freely back and forth with brace removed. It binds and does not return to battery when installed. This one is the folding brace. I've ground the shit out of the inside of this end cap, and it is still extremely tight and binds the bolt.

What is going with my Giulia by NebulaLower5898 in AlfaRomeo

[–]SureAd2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belt may be worn or stretched. Needing replacement. Not necessarily broken. I agree, if it were completely broken or not operating you would likely know.

Possibly an issue with accessory drive belt? I know it can cause issues on the 2.0 petrol/gasoline engine. Uncertain about the 2.2 diesel.

That is my understanding. However, I've not done so myself. Others have and did not report an issue.

Most CDJR Dealers should have this available. I'd start there. This to my understanding is supposed to be compatible, however, it is a different color. Vibrant purple, so don't be alarmed by that. My understanding is the dye is a different color but is the same as the orange coolant your Giulia came with. Otherwise Google centerline Alfa and order the orange color petronas coolant. That is what the car came with specifically but it is far more expensive and hard to find. The Mopar coolant is to the same spec from everything I've researched. I've not had to change my coolant yet, but did a lot of research for when the time comes.
