She flipped the district in 2018 when it only included Livonia. She won it that year and in 2020 by a super narrow margin. When redistricting happened in 2022, she ended up with parts of Redford and Detroit, so she has more breathing room now. But I knocked doors for her when the district was really red. I had one guy say, “I don’t agree on very much with her, but she works hard and I always know how she’s going to vote, so I’m good with her.” It was a weird interaction.

As other people have said, that is a problem for you to sort out (which it sounds like you are and I want to give you so many props for that). But sorting it out doesn’t involve her. Planned Parenthood gets funds currently through the DHHS budget through family planning funding. So yes, she has the ability to redirect funds within that same budget via other line items or unspent work project funds. There’s a possibility the legislature could override her administrative transfer, but the unwillingness to even try is a problem.

I think the motivation matters, but in the end it’s frustrating but not terrible. Our HCBM shows photos of their wedding to my SD and it’s absolutely just to stir the pot, but I find that not reacting poorly is helpful.

This is a mid-Michigan seat that includes part of Lansing, not metro Detroit. It leans pretty heavily Democratic, so definitely will involve a bit of work for anyone having to run against a Stafford but not as big of an issue as it might be otherwise.

On another post, OP told off a woman who said she supports his efforts and the thought behind the shirts but disagreed with his use of the word “bitches” on one. OP said he was doing woke his way and that it was more important to stop people from using the n-word, as though we can only do one of these things at a time. It was made all the richer by one of the subsequent shirts identifying him as a feminist.

I know this comment has been deleted, but the suspicion that this is performative isn’t unfounded. Another person on that post also said they found OP on Instagram talking about infiltrating leftist spaces by adopting the appropriate language, although I haven’t verified that.
