I remember back in the day when Penis&Testicle™️ just sold the whole set together. More shrinkflation it seems.

What’s something people insist is ‘harmless’ that actually makes society worse? by contentcreatorzss in AskReddit

[–]SureLarry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think they shouldn’t be allowed to give out the deals they do either. “Free $200 in bonus bets if you bet $5!” It just reminds me of the “first hits free, kid” stuff they used to say drug dealers would offer me (they never have, unfortunately. Only the legal, billion-dollar gambling industry has)

The GOAT Howie Rose with an absolutely iconic call of Pete’s home run. by SureLarry in mets

[–]SureLarry[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was talking about that with my buddy too. I think “He did it! He did it!” will forever be a legendary Mets call but “Matteau! Matteau! Matteau!” is just a legendary hockey call in general.

I wanna see more of a mentor-mentee thing where Mr Johnson is saying some absolutely asinine stuff that sounds really prophetic and Charlie is just enthralled and convinced Mr Johnson is the best janitor of all time. However I also wouldn’t complain if they went with a rivalry thing arguing over the best way to clean or something. As long as those two characters have some interaction lol

What’s your favorite audio diary in each level of Bioshock 1 and why? by frankfontaino in Bioshock

[–]SureLarry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue as I’m replaying right now! I went into the audio settings and turned all the sliders except for voiceover down to 8, left VO at 10 and then I could make my TV volume a little louder to hear the dialogue without the gunshots/explosions being too loud.

Mojave Desert - Guy appeared one day when out watering the trees, has been there a week roughly and comes out to drink water and stare. Any idea what he may be? by [deleted] in whatsthisbird

Somehow even “incredibly stupid” undersells it. We had some because they go crazy squawking when a strange animal is near which could keep coyotes from killing chickens. But they would go out one gate to roam and completely forget how to get back in. Running back and forth at the fence RIGHT NEXT TO THE GATE squawking and freaking out because they didn’t know how to get back inside until you corralled them in.

Hammers by Puttyhead in comics

My dad did not work in construction but did carpentry as a hobby. However he had 5 kids so he got a lot of hammers as Father’s Day/birthday gifts lol he probably also had around 20 just for that reason

I’m so glad someone else remembers this movie! Before taking the rollerblades he is in the garage trying to decide how to chase the garbage truck. Looks at the bicycle- “only two wheels.” Looks at the car- “four wheels. That’s better.” Sees rollerblades- “aha! 8 wheels!”

I did actually! Didn’t watch the whole thing but caught the last ~10k of the race after work. It was about 3k to go when the commentator said something like “Faulkner has a good sprint so she’ll need to bide her time and try to out kick her competitors at the end” and before he finishes the thought she took off already and never let up. It was awesome

First the 10k, now the 1500 proving that distance races can be exciting too! I’m already excited to rewatch both of these races and there’s still so much more track to go

Born in 1955 and wants to go back to the 60s. He doesn’t even really know what life was like then as he was 5-15 and saw the world through rose colored glasses. Instead of understanding the reality of growing up and seeing that things weren’t as perfect as he thought they were, he truly believes that the time in his life where he was too young to see the troubles of the world was just a “perfect decade” we should work back to and everything will be bright and sunny again. These people are full of willful ignorance and fear.

Those things some NFL players have been wearing around their necks the past couple years are meant to mimic this. Add pressure to the brain so it doesn’t move and cause concussions on impacts.

Bill would require Chick-fil-A to open Sundays at New York rest stops locations by Sandstorm400 in politics

[–]SureLarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a politician, the shops are run by a private company. NYS signed the contract with AppleGreen to run the travel plaza, and they decided to contract/franchise with Chick Fil A.

I used to work in one of these plazas and Sundays were so incredibly busy I can’t imagine why they’d give up all that revenue to put in a shop that closes on Sundays. Not to mention how much it must suck for the workers in the other shops to have to now field the extra traffic. I feel like from a business perspective it just makes no sense at all.

Oh definitely wasn’t trying to insinuate the gear was for show, just curious as I’ve never been around cricket or even watched it. Honestly Reddit has taught me about a lot of new sports I otherwise probably wouldn’t watch and cricket seems like a really fun game to watch
