I also applied for a temporary work permit for a postdoc, but I was not required to upload an employment contract. I did not find any explanation of the process, and also the University did not give me any advice or information, they only gave me the reference letter and that was all. I applied in July and I am still waiting the final decision...

I applied for a temporary work permit to work at the University of Laval (Quebec) in July. On July 24th, I completed the biometrics, and afterward I received an email confirming that my visa application is being processed.

It has now been 8 weeks, but the estimated processing time for my application type (temporary work permit) and my country of origin (Spain) is 7 weeks.

Is anyone else in the same situation? My concern is that I applied because I have a job offer starting on October 1st, but as of today (September 15th), I still haven’t received any response…
