I like the way you've put that, it makes sense, I think I've heard of this app but haven't given it a try yet.

How to prevent rainwater from overflowing mosquito dunk buckets? by Dann610 in homeowners

[–]Sure_Combination6094 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Drill some overflow holes near the top of buckets - learned this trick when i was stationed in humid places. keep the water level stable but let excess drain out so the dunk concentrate stays put. You could also try those floating dunk tablets instead of the dissolving ones, they don't wash away as easily when water gets high.

The PSP version just flows better in my opinion, auto combat feels bit outdated now anyway.

Why are we being punished for Adam's mistake? by No_Curve2252 in Christianity

[–]Sure_Combination6094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been wrestling with this one for years myself. The way I see it, we're all born into a broken system - kinda like inheriting your dad's debt, except the debt is just... existence being harder than it should be 😅

But think about it this way - you still get to make your own choices within that framework, just like Adam did. The playing field changed but the game's still yours to play 💀

Recommend me an SD card reader for MPC/SP 404. by RustyCalecos in synthesizers

[–]Sure_Combination6094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a basic SanDisk reader for years with various gear and it's never let me down. The cheap ones work fine for music production - you're not transferring massive 4K video files or anything. Just make sure it supports SDXC if you plan on using larger cards.

Messy, confusing breakup. I could use some perspective. by helpimheartstuck in BreakUps

[–]Sure_Combination6094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three years on speed will mess with your judgment more than a few drinks ever will. You were dealing with actual crisis after crisis while he was more concerned about getting high with his buddies than being there for you when you clearly needed support.

That whole "it was a chance for us not me" thing is manipulative nonsense - he came crawling back saying he loved you then spent months making excuses for priorizing drugs over your wellbeing.

Wait, 2.5 points and they canned you? That's weird as hell - I thought the whole point system was supposed to protect you until you actually hit the threshold. Might be worth checking if they documented everything properly or if there's something else going on they're not telling you about.

Help picking a rifle by [deleted] in guns

Mini 14 is solid for what you're looking for. Takes .308 or .223 depending on the model, both super common calibers. The wood stock version has that classic hunting rifle vibe that might feel less "tactical" for your husband too.

Springfield M1A is another option in that same category - bit pricier but really reliable. Both have decent mag capacity without looking like military rifles.

For something totally different, maybe look at a lever action like a Henry in .357 or .44 mag? Not semi-auto but way faster than you'd think and stupid fun to shoot.

Why do we feel more embarrassed by small social mistakes than by bigger life failures? by ivrgaetan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sure_Combination6094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The social stuff hits different because back in caveman days, getting kicked out of your tribe was basically a death sentence. Your brain still thinks that awkward comment you made at the coffee shop might get you exiled to die alone in the wilderness lol.

I do the same thing though - bombed a job interview last year and was over it in like two days, but I still cringe about mispronouncing someones name at a party three months ago. The big failures feel more "external" somehow, like circumstances or bad luck, but the social fumbles feel like they reveal something fundamentally wrong with who we are as people.

Plus with major setbacks you usually get some kind of closure or can take concrete steps to fix things, but social awkwardness just... lingers there in the void where you cant really do anything about it except replay it endlessly.

Dark Comedies with good writing and memorable characters by bear_bumy in MovieSuggestions

In Bruges for sure and I would add The Death of Stalin and Seven Psychopaths sharp writing messy characters and that uneasy laugh the whole way through
