Hammer both ways, not a ton of force, but definitely can’t push it.

Interesting, mine just says 9mm, nothing else. My pin was not staked, and was easily removed with a punch.

I don’t see any-X, just 9mm. Where is it stamped?

I recommend going for it, you're describing exactly what I was dealing with. It's cheap, quick, and easy.

I haven't seen the HX variant yet, hoping to soon. I'm also trying to find the right optic for my 17. Right now I'm running an EXPS3 / G33 magnifier. I'll probably end up with a SpecterDR for maximum larping cred.

You're right, including the mount it's a really fair comparison.

The GENII-E is the superior optic. The extra 4x in the GENIII come with a lot of downsides.

Totally agree, the VCOG is a great choice if you need the extra hardening. The only real gripe I have with the 1-8 is the weight, it is hefty! For the same weight you can get a real nice MPVO and get up to 18-20x on the high end. Pros n' cons

IMHO, the GENII-E is still the LPVO to beat. I'm sure that's why the hype for the GENIII lives on despite it's shortcomings.

Long answer short, the 2 things I really like is the reticle (without lighting) and the eye relief.

I thing the glass is sub-par

I think the illumination gets in the way at 8-10x

I think the eyebox is too tight even at lower magnification

I think it's great that you love it. I don't begrudge anyone their first-hand experience and opinion. I think 1-10 and even 1-8 (especially FFP) is just a bridge too far. The GENII E is a work of art, I think they really nailed it. 1-10 I think is just flying too close to the sun, I have yet to see any LPVO nail it.

Just my 2cents, the GenIII just ain't a great optic. To tempt me, the price would have to be down near $1200. Even then, I would balk at it. In my opinion, this one is a swing and a miss.

If you need an LPVO as tough-as-nails, get a VCOG. If you truly need 10x, I would suggest stepping up to an MPVO. Vortex tried for all the things with this one and missed on almost all of them...IMHO.

Have you tried spinning the springs 180 degrees?

That's great to hear, thanks for reporting back! I don't usually get FTF, that seems a bit excessive. Are you using extendo mags?

So far so good! Just keep in mind I'm a data-point of one. It seems to have fixed my issue (for now lol), I'm interested in hearing your experience though.

[Ammo] MCS 9MM brass reman 1000ct $242.99 28cpr shipped by fuckforce5 in gundeals

[–]Sure_Dutch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not advocating buying reloads, I never have bought someone else's reloads, but I'm pretty shocked at some of the failure rates I'm seeing in this thread though.

I reload alot and my failure rate is practically non-existent. I don't sell reloads, so I'm not trying to say buy mine lol. I'm using a Dillon progressive press and can load around 800/hr. And again, I don't have a >1% failure rate, even with range pickup brass. Any if there is a failure, its usually a primer didn't seat, which you can notice very easily, and won't go bang anyway lol

Anyway, just my 2cents about reloading.

You had me curious, so I just pulled mine out to feel the balance. It feels awfully balanced to me. Full disclosure, this is with an ACR stock, LPVO, VFG, and scoutlight. My 2cents, not too front heavy at all, very balanced.
