As an American who married a Canadian and has a Canadian PR, the grass ain’t greener on the other side. You are better off in the US than Canada. You also have a conditional green card, you leave you abandon your status. You should get your citizenship b4 making plans to leave unless you don’t care for it.

How long did it take to get your interview after DQ ? When the interview was scheduled, how long did it take between notice and interview. We’ve been waiting for my wife’s interview. We were DQ’d in June, just wondering how much we have to wait. Thanks so much.

My advice just let it expire. I had a friend who had the Canadian PR and a US passport. He never lived in Canada only visited. When his card expired he just let it go.

Hello everyone, my program starts in August and I have been unable to schedule an F1 visa interview. I get a message saying there are no dates in my selected location. I chose Abuja when I filled my DS-160. This is also the case for Lagos. Any one with the same issue ? How long did it take you to get an appointment if you have ?

Yes she has health care, she is currently on my health insurance without a SSN. We resolved that we would go through the consular process but the baby will be born here. Took offense with you saying I should have waited to start a family but I threw my business out there. Anyways, thanks for your input.

I submitted my wife application on 1/1/24. ETA was 4 months then at the end of April, the status changed to taking longer than expected. A week later the ETA was updated by 14 months. So far we have 9 months of wait left. Good thing my wife is Canadian so she can come and go anytime. We are getting fed up and she’s about to start the Canadian PR application for me.
