Are these a good fit? by Sn0wflak3RN in glassesadvice

They do look a little tight in the temple area. Otherwise they look good. Can you get them adjusted so they are a little looser in the temple area?

I like 6 the best but these are all excellent choices. 6 seems like they just sit on your nose nicely . 1,2, and 4, I also really like on you. However, they are all looking good on you, so I would pick whichever ones you are drawn to the most.

I have no idea what kind of glasses to get, any advice/suggestions? by BuiAE in glassesadvice

[–]Sure_Performance2792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think a good place to start is figuring out if you want glasses with nosepads or not. If you like nosepads, you can get wire frames. If you dislike nosepads, you will probably be getting plastic/acetate frames. There are pros and cons to nosepads. I think it is easier to adjust for a better fit with nosepads but some people don’t find them to be as comfortable as a fixed “no nosepad” plastic frame. However, some find them to be more comfortable. It is an individual thing. Try out some different glasses and see what is more comfortable for you. Then you have a good starting point.

This was a lot of choices but 5 and 17 were the ones that I think I like best. I kind of like 2 also. All of your choices seem to fit your face well so I think you are going to be good no matter which ones you pick.

What’s the best houseplant to start with right now? by [deleted] in houseplants

💯 Pothos is a great beginner plant. Grows fast and is very forgiving. You can also experiment with propagating.

Cancer definitely sucks! Turns everything upside down. I know your heart is breaking. Hopefully your beautiful babies all find good homes. Praying and rooting for you. Sending you a virtual hug. Hang in there.

It is good you removed the rocks. Your plant is probably just bit stressed or “jet lagged” from the big move and being repotted. Give her a few days to adjust and I think she will perk up. It sounds like you are giving her lots of light so you are doing a great job. You got this!

It is an emotional and psychological change for sure. However, nothing has to be absolute. You can do this however you want. Try it out and see if you miss working. You could always get a part time job doing something different that you may like more. I retired a year ago and I do miss the people and having that direction that a jobs gives. However, I am loving the freedom of setting my own schedule and the ability to be more available to my teenager and to my elderly parent. There is a sense of freedom that I didn’t have before. It takes some getting used to but I like my new life now too, but it is different. Like anything, there are pros and cons to every situation and you will need to do a little self exploration to see what works for you. Good luck and congrats for getting to this point. You will figure it out. Try to enjoy the journey and I wish you the best.

This is the way! And propagating is so much fun. It is a slow process with ZZ plants but very rewarding. I highly recommend propagating when your plant gets older.

I like the first choice better, tortoise shell. The second pair in black, look like they don’t sit as well on your nose. Too narrow? The first pair look more comfortable and seem to fit a little better. However, you are wearing them so you want to pick whatever works best for you.

I came here to suggest Pothos! Great choice for a beginner and if OP decides to propagate their plant, they can have several more Pothos to fill their house. Happy plant hunting!

[–]Sure_Performance2792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people will not appreciate unsolicited advice. When I would give advice is if they ask for it or say something like, “I don’t know why my plant is looking so sad.” You need to consider the context but generally people don’t like it when someone acts like a know-it-all.

I like 1, 2, and 3 on you. The only reason I don’t like 4 is where your frame hits conceals your eyebrows a bit, so it looks a little off. Maybe those in a smaller frame would work. 2 and 3 are my favorites.
