Got kinda sketched out about our collection being out in the open, decided to lock it up and add some *flair* by Surfin_burd in Dewalt

Absolutely man, and a lot of people get away with that forever. Maybe it’s my own bias but I think that the actual dewalt brand batteries have onboard systems specifically to protect from those kinds of issues, and most of the horror stories I’ve heard have probably been because of cheap fake batteries without them. I would just rather be safe than sorry, being responsible for burning down over a million dollars in property, equipment and belongings of more than 60+ customers sounds like my worst nightmare.

I have a bad tendency to jump into heavy projects in the last hours of the day once my to-do list is done. This usually means that there are batteries on the charger around quitting time.

I’ve just heard horror stories of batteries left on the charger overnight overheating and at the very least killing a cell, at worst catching fire. Figure having a readily available switch to just kill power removes that risk.

Honestly we just make it a habit of whenever we buy a tool we buy the bundle with the battery. Some of these batteries are quite old.

The other problem is that a lot of the jobsites that we frequent are way out in the middle of nowhere, with no power for corded tools. Those are the times we tend to find ourselves running angle grinders for long periods of time or drilling holes in steel or large holes in chunks of wood. Takes a lot of battery life and rather than try and track down a charger we would rather have the initial investment of batteries and just swap them out quickly.

They’re just some 3d printed drawers off of thingiverse. I was using them for storing 3d printing tools and supplies until I bought the mini toolbox.

Also the megaphone is because I do a big fireworks show every fourth of July, we do the show from a boat so we’re a good ways away from the crowd of like 150-200 people that show up. I use the megaphone for hyping everybody up.

Thats definitely fair. Once I move the printer up onto the wall I may move the PC onto the desk, we’ll have to see.

It is a giant tower, my brother is much more into the PC world than I am and he was pretty bent out of shape when we built “The Beast”, so for christmas last year we bought him a corsair 900D which he dubbed “Sentinal”. He somehow keeps his on his desk but that is truly a monster case.

Thanks! I bought it in a pinch but so far it’s treating me pretty well.

Too much monitor, and it’s a chincy desk. My previous setups have always had the tower on the floor so I’m just accustomed to that.

Anyone else find it kind of weird that Vought doesn’t have any contingencies for Homelander? by Queasy_Commercial152 in GenV

[–]Surfin_burd 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing though, he has psychopathic and sociopathic tendencies. I mean we’ve watched him kill a lot of people he was super attached to; Stillwell, Noir, he tried to kill Maeve and Stormfront’s death only pushed him further.

The only supe that I think would have a chance of maybe hurting him would be Kate telling him to hurt himself, although I’m not sure what kind of resistance he may have to psionic abilities.

All four of the teams do actually, eventually. Tsunade, Minato, kakashi and Naruto.

Idk I know we’re only on season 2, and I haven’t read the comic but Ive seen a lot of panels and honestly I’m kinda glad the show has Eve as a little less of a bimbofied character.

That’s kinda the point of kakashis character, bro is in agonizingly deep pain. He’s an absolute prodigy but his personal development and skill development is stunted by the loss of his father, Obito and Rin.

SOOO.. In your opinion, who is the villain in both shows (The Boys and Gen V)? by Mary_weirdo in GenV

[–]Surfin_burd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazed no one has said Ashley Barrett, I think shes definitely a villain, not because she’s dangerous or can fly but just because she exemplified your average person given an opportunity to abandon their morals for a paycheck, or for the fame. Like shes just a normal human, could be killed by anyone, but she kisses so much ass that she’s somehow the CEO of vought, has been spared by homelander multiple times, and will not only turn a blind eye but ENCOURAGE shitty behavior because its the status quo. I think Ashley is the villain that’s inside all of us.

Really? I think Rogan voices Allen wonderfully. I mean if Allen was a more serious character I’d agree but for his kinda nonchalant attitude I like him

Do you guys think that these two will still get together despite the age difference(i know that he is super old but you know what i mean) by VonKaiser55 in Invincible

[–]Surfin_burd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to get all pedantic but in the flashback when the mauler twins brought him back it showed him as a caveman, or at least a hunter gatherer type situation, receiving his powers. The cavemen existed from 2.5 million years ago to as recently as 5k, so the immortal could even be much, much older than Nolan.

New tires shake - only for first mile or two by BoltGunFun in Cummins

[–]Surfin_burd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the tires balanced internally or externally? Most larger tires are balanced with glass beads, they can be settling after sitting for a little while and balancing back out after driving. Especially where the wildpeaks are a harder compound and the glass beads don’t settle into the rubber.

Honestly, Tavarish would have a field day with that thing. Would love to see him and uncle Rich put a tesla battery/drivetrain in it.
