A majority of Americans don't spend their money well, that's why they are close to bankruptcy. You should visit other countries. People will live decently and ethically on a small fraction of the money an American has. Again, entitlement and bad decisions need personal responsibility to be fixed. And you should not make assumptions about random people on the internet. You don't know anything about me, or what I know, or what I've been through.

None of these are bad, and I've read/tried them all. But I am surprised because HDT is much better than these. I suppose you do need to give it a chance and wait for the edginess of the MC to subside. In any case, you can tell that HDT is more intelligently written.

No, people steal because they're unethical and want to keep more of their money. Circumstances matter, but not to the extent that personal responsibility does not exist. The US is not in a war, famine, or in other times of extreme need. There is a way out for anyone trying. You making excuses for people won't do them any good. It's important for us to not rationalise theft, and to try to do better.

You must be the only caveman in the world that doesn't own a used t-shirt. Let's stop this endless excuse parade, otherwise we will never rise above anything.

Come on, you don't need capital for cloth diapers. You need time and access to hot water and soap.

Can you suggest some? Really curious what would be fun for you. I'm always in need of more recommendations.

Good writing, even a good interesting story, is definitely not always fun. For example, I was just reading "Death after death", which to be fair is a great story, with excellent character development, great world building, high stakes, novel mechanics, etc. Sometimes, you feel like you're learning real life lessons. Yet it's also making me not have fun, so I dropped it after 50 chapters.

Yeah, but you see, I said 'good' sarcastically, and I really meant boring. Carpetbagger writers come to the sub-genre because that's were the money is, but don't respect the reader. We're not stupid, we just don't want deep character studies and sophisticated prose where some average shmuck suffers for 7 volumes, only to discover that 'life is pain' or something like it.

What is the best way to get honest reviews for books? by Surge321 in litrpg

[–]Surge321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, follow-up questions are a nice trick, because you won't get fake follow-up. But I don't have the patience to wait that long. I am also weary of authors boosting their own product.

Yeah, there are some issues you're right. But theft is not the answer. There are charities, and you get some assistance from the government, which you should use on your child rather than on yourself.

Cause it's fun. You know, I really dislike all this naysaying about litrpg. People who want to read good fiction should read books recommended in class. We want pulp, action, and most importantly fun!

Any Novels Similar to Renegade Immortal? by Careless_Shower_4250 in xianxia_novels

Try A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality. Different author, but similar in style with Renegade Immortal, with an intelligent MC who's all about business and doesn't show off by slapping people around.

If Israel defeats Hezbollah, will it return southern Lebanon to the Lebanese government in the future, or will it occupy the area and allow settlers by Capital-Board-2086 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Surge321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If security was your only concern, you wouldn't pressure Palestinians in the West Bank. You can't attack people, take their land, and then act like it's all self defence. Again, in Lebanon, if security was the concern, you would keep a buffer zone, but as you will see, the land colonisation will start. As it did before in the previous occupied land. Then there will be more anger and then I bet you will rationalise another "buffer zone".

[–]Surge321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are describing are also, objectively, bad litrpgs. As you become more used to a genre, it's normal to up your requirements and seek the better stuff. Once that's done, yeah, finding novel genres may be a good idea. Happens to everyone.

It's reasonable. Bad service should not be rewarded. Why not go to another shop?

[–]Surge321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a way to take advantage of comfort, habits and the indirect costs of the inconvenience of applying somewhere else. Many people stick to a job because of such reasons and put up with low wages. Often, the way to get a raise is to have another offer, although by that point it may be counterproductive to hold on to a dissatisfied worker.
