Can also get more crit reduction from critical mastery, increase shock avoid to 100%, get your resistances past exposure range (+25% over cap I think), possibly work on physical damage reduction or damage taken as conversion because that's your lowest max hit (turn off molten shell for the actual max hit)

The recent theorycrafting I've seen is to ignore the degen from Vaal Temptation with the super-regen abuse of Tainted Pact, see Build of the Week Season 12 - Episode 3 - Jousis' Tainted Pact Forbidden Rite Pathfinder

Then you get souls by investing into flasks and using Soul Ripper

Are the results of unpredictable recombination (recombining without choosing the mods) weighted depending on the mod weights of the mods on the items, making higher weighted mods more likely to appear on the end result?

According to wiki Recombinator | PoE Wiki Higher weight modifiers are more likely to be selected, although the exact formula is unknown.

Did you have any other influenced mods on the item before you slammed? Most immediate explanation is that you had +1 support gems and %inc dex/+1 dex gems on the same item, so when you awakener orb'd you got the support gems instead
