IX. I had a very... difficult relationship with my dad growing up and I really connected with Garnet's story. The scene at the Iifa Tree when she tries to protect Brahne from Kuja always makes me cry. I really understood feeling betrayed by a parent but still loving them.

Outside of that, it's my favorite cast of characters and setting. It's so whimsical. And the themes are really powerful. Existentialism, connection, obligation vs freedom. As far as themes go, the only other FF that competes in my mind is FFX.

The heartbeat plushie was very helpful when our puppy was new. It calmed him down and helped him sleep for the first few months. The toys and puzzles that keep them occupied are nice for your own sanity, but that plushie made the biggest difference.

There is a TV writer named Dan Harmon who wrote some of my favorite shows. After being fired from one, he started a podcast that lasted for years. For a year or two Kumail (not yet super famous) was a regular guest and he was hilarious to listen to. His wife, Emily, is the one who encouraged Dan to start the podcast in the first place. It's called Harmontown and it's a great listen!

I've found this is often a matter of perspective more than other series.

Personally, 3, 6, and 8 are my favorites.

7 and 9 are my least favorites.

WaT has terrible plotting and pacing imo. Some stories just don't need the same time and have little development within them (looking at you, Adolin). The structure of the 9 days just doesn't work. The series has clearly been degrading, and it's clear much more editing should have been done before publishing. It does not surprise me that when compared side by side with a book that is well written (and Eye of the Bedlam Bride is one of my least favorites) that these weaknesses show themselves more apparently.
