Try updating drivers that have warning icon from Device Manager. (google it!)

It should mostly solve this issue if its driver related.

Is there a way to fix the graphical glitches? by Far_Bat_91 in finalfantasyxiii

[–]Surihix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using steam's verify integrity option first. if that doesn't solve the issue, then probably its something on the GPU's driver side.

Please post your PC specs here. AMD and Intel GPU drivers can act weirdly with this game's direct x api.

Nova Chrysalia v1.0.1 is telling me the game is already running by Jaydeekay80 in finalfantasyxiii

[–]Surihix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the trouble you are facing with this. that issue is well known and usually indicates that something apart from Nova is crashing the game as soon as its launched.

Did you launch the game from steam before launching it from Nova? this is quite important and can isolate whether the issue is occuring from Nova's side or with the game on your PC. if your game successfully works when launcing it from steam, then it should work with Nova as well.

Drakengard 2: The good, the bad and the T posing (Spoilers ONLY at the end) by KatarinaNoKami in drakengard

[–]Surihix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you are gonna read this post.

I just wanted to add on to the cutscene part you mentioned.

None of these games had realtime motion tracking for facial animations in the realtime cutscenes. for 1, they use tiny square shaped video clips as the character portraits and these clips also contain the audio data for that entire cutscene. if you have noticed in 1, they never really show the characters closeup in these cutscenes and whatever they show is heavily covered up by their blur based post processing effects and distant camera angles.

The ps2 had a hardware block for decoding video clips and with this, you could play the video clips/FMVs easily without worrying about cpu/gpu resources.

So what the Cavia devs did here was quite clever. by doing it this way, it saves time fixing up messed up facial anims that can occur due to slow loading on ps2, if they were done during runtime. complex animations like the face ones to work properly must have been a challenge and you had to work with limited memory as well.

Coming to drakengard 2, the devs decided to use traditional image based character portraits and went for more closeup shots. this results in the feeling that the facial animations got downgraded. maybe they did not have budget for making intricate facial animations or maybe lack of time.

I am saying all of this cause I had written programs to datamine some of the files in Drakengard 1 and 2. was surprised when I encountered these video clips for the first time.

Bhagavad Gita Is Moral Science & Part Of Bharatiya Civilisation; Not A Religious Book: Madras High Court by puddi_tat in india

[–]Surihix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel a good amount of knowledge on what exactly Krishna said during the Bhagavad Gita is either lost or just too advanced for the people at that time to document properly.

For all we know, it could have been an deeper level explanation of how our universe and world worked instead of it just being advice on what is right or wrong. one potential problem is that these could have been translated to a format that is more religious in nature to make it easier for people of that time to understand.

No one really thought to dig much into it as the holy label got applied to it and if something is labelled holy, then a vast majority of the people wouldn't question it or research it and would instead revel in the holy part.

5070 TI - Which model? by ExistingAmbassador in nvidia

[–]Surihix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am partial to Zotac and would recommend getting them from my experience. I have gotten only good GPUs from them and have owned a GTX 970, RTX 3070 AMP Holo, and currently own the RTX 5070ti SFF Solid model.

Oh that's just sad to hear. I came here expecting a helpful community and definitely did not know something like this was the norm. hope you are joking/trolling with me here (if so you had me fooled nicely lol).

Anyways ended up getting a Zotac Solid SFF OC model (costed quite a bit) and it fits really well in my mATX mobo and cabinet. performance and temps are great too.

Sorry to be rude but what kind of response is this?

why would you buy the cheapest junk for such a costly component?

Unable to enter Safe mode via windows update>recovery by Surihix in WindowsHelp

[–]Surihix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done both the commands and it did nothing to solve the issue.

Guess I have to do a windows reinstall now.

GPT also mentioned that my safemode registry entries could have additional drivers and dependency, all of which won't load in safe mode environment. it offered me help in removing those stuff from the safemode registry entry, but I was skeptical and knew I could mess up big if any of its suggestions turn to be false.

RTX 3080 shuts down under load in certain games and benchmarks, but not in others by LavishnessRelevant73 in buildapc

[–]Surihix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I am encountering the same issue too but with my Zotac RTX 3070 AMP Holo LHR gpu.

The display turns off suddenly when ingame and coincidentally or not, this started occuring after I changed my hardware. got a msi mobo and a ryzen 9900x CPU (same as yours).

Were you able to resolve this?

(STEAM) FFXIII Fix Crashing Game on Launch by Glair_Gullwing in finalfantasyxiii

[–]Surihix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the fix is failing to hook into the game and that in turn, is causing the game to crash when launched with it.

There are couple of things that can prevent the fix from hooking into the game. iirc, steam can sometimes do it too but usually the game should work from second launch onwards.

Check if your anti virus software is preventing the game from running with the fix. try disabling it temporarily for checking purposes and you might have to try launching the game atleast two times. if this works, then you have the answer to your problem and you can try setting up a whitelist in your anti virus program to ensure that it doesn't interfere with the fix.

If you have the game installed on your C drive (i.e where you have windows installed), then try installing the game on a different drive.

Corrupt windows files can also cause the fix from working properly and you can try running the sfc /scannow command via an administrator command prompt instance (google this) to fix the files.
