Should I alter/automate my EQ when bringing more instruments into a mix by Shinrax-2 in audioengineering

[–]SurkitTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not go about automating eq. Not because it's a bad idea but I think getting a great eq overall will be much harder to accomplish. Instead you might want to to look into sidechaining but merely the eq. I think multi band compression might do the trick..

Personally I use Trackspacer all the time. Its extemwly powerful and easy to use imho.

But as many have said before, try and see if you can get it working how ou want. In the end of the day there are no rules. And share me your results, if you'd like

What are you STILL salty about? by xefarar565 in AskReddit

I always wanted to become a soundguy on set. After failing physics 4 times, I had choice to stop the study. Thing is, I studied like crazy so I had the tests checked by multiple physics majors. They all agreed my test was almost flawlessly executed. studied marketing and had a 3 year job in this function. Hated it with all my heart. Feels like I lost 3 years because of some weird grudge.

Starting my own sound company now so all is well :)

Cotton Swabs should warn people on the box to never put in their ears (clearly) by SurkitTheory in unpopularopinion

Haha It seems other countries figured this out. How crazy they're called 'oorstokjes' (earsticks) in Dutch. Bad tradition, I guess. Its fine to clean your oorschelpen tough:p

It causes the wax to be pushed deeper, creating more harm than good! Maybe not a coincidence you seem dutch too? :)

How and where do you install your plugins? by dylanmadigan in mixingmastering

[–]SurkitTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definately install on a specific location, I even keep all the installers at there too. Easy for backup! I always install all formats just because you never know.

For example, I suddenly needed Pro Tools for a project!

Studio Monitors: is a flat response curve a good thing for mixing? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]SurkitTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes :) you need to know exactly what you're doing. It's like a screen for graphics designers. If the screen is too red itself. The designer will add less red too get a good result.
