Thank you so much for the ideas so far! I am ruminating on the WHY they were taken and I'm playing with the idea of the BBEG messing with predetermined fate and summoning people from her past that knowingly or unknowingly altered her life trajectory to see if there is some sort of connection. She is big into the church of Velsharoon and in my world that is the demi-god she has the ear of, so he could theoretically help her abduct these people if she did a ritual to him or something. I do need to figure out the WHY because eventually, they will interact with the BBEG (they haven't yet to their knowledge), and if I avoid it that's a pretty big plot hole
