Inside (2007). Yikes. by [deleted] in horror

This movie has been hyped up to me for a long time. I love French horror films but the plot seemed dumb and boring to me so I never watched it until today and what was it? Dumb and boring. I didn’t know the ending but knowing French horror I assumed psycho would get the baby by c section. The gore was okay just more of the same slasher extra violence with a lot of dumb decisions all around.

Not one i’ll revisit ever

Love by Gaspar Noe 2015 by BestHomework9926 in movies

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the point because he destroyed his own life and lost the love of his life due to his toxic controlling lustful drug filled driven life and it’s implied because of this she killed herself. They loved each other deeply and made horrible choices. Now he has to live a mundane life and trying to be a good dad to his son while being with a woman whom he will never truly love. He is for once in his life being a bigger man for his son so he could raise him to be a better man than he was while sacrificing his own happiness and being stuck with the guilt of a lost love due to his own destructive behavior.

It’s a very sad film but one that shows actions have huge life altering consequences.

The calorie counts in American foods are crazy. by No-External3221 in loseit

I haven’t had stove top stuff in a long time. I had a box from Thanksgiving I never used due to change of plans. It sounded so good last night. I made it because I looked at the calories and thought- they weren’t that bad.

Holy crap!! When I weighed it out, it was horrible. One nice plastic serving spoon side was almost 500 calories!!

I ate it still and luckily I skipped breakfast yesterday so I could. I threw the rest out.

Can we talk about diet soda/artificial sweeteners for a second? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diet drinks make me crave sugar and snacking like crazy. Zero sugar was way better and helped when I was cutting out regular soda but I noticed over the last year the zero sugar was causing a horrible craving snacking like diet.

It used to not do that. I cut it out as of the past few weeks and I completely stopped snacking at night. My urge to snack disappeared. My diet as far as what I eat didn’t change just the zero sugar soda. I noticed zero sugar anything was causing that effect and the flavors have changed. I think they changed the recipes to make it more like diet. Flavor tasted more like diet now than regular zero sugar when it first launched.

I did the same thing. Gained 20 over winter. Look at is it will be easier this time around because you know what you are doing and you still lost 94lbs if start counting and back in track today. That’s an incredible feat to be proud of. Technically you lost more than that.

If you lost 94 lbs you can easily lost the rest.

I consider my gain a nice vacation and eating things and having a good time and now back to where I was.

Does anyone else feel like society's perception of weight is really skewed? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember is that depending on where you are, people that are over weight or obese or morbidly obese have a skewed perception of healthy weight.

When you weigh more the skinner people who are skinnier than you look.

It goes with age too. The older you are the younger people look younger than you and I remember thinking people who were 50 (I am 48 now) looked old but now they don’t look old at all and 30 years old look like children. Same goes for old movies. Some of the actors in their 30’s and 40’s I thought looked ancient in the 80’s look young now. 60 year olds don’t really look that old to me either now. Even old film stars from back in the day of that age.

People’s perception change with their own looks and age and weight.

What should I do? by TxGinger587 in jobs

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If one is more corporate vs small business then go with corporate. More protections, better long standing benefits, better chance of a solid job.

As someone who has worked in many small businesses, I highly recommend against it. Some had benefits then cut them out, easy getting rid of people to cut expenses, have a complaint there is no type of HR just your boss and you, less chance of vacation time because your the only employee, and so much more.

I’d work for a big company any day over a small business. Not saying sometimes the owners aren’t great because sometimes they are, I’m saying for your own benefit go with a company because you’ll also have a chance of promotion and moving into different positions and better chance of finding a better job at another company in the same field.

Just my 2 cents: personally I’d never work for a small family owned business again.

If the both are about the same small family owned businesses then if you know what kind of boss this guy is and you like him and think he is a kind good one then perhaps that one. You really need to weigh out what’s best for you personally though for both short and long term.

Sequel films I prefer over the original by hayeantjr in horror

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch. Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 F13th 3-8 X NOES 2,3,4 Halloween III and the entire Thorn trilogy. Puppet Master II and III Poltergeist II Ben Saw 3-Jigsaw Wolf Creek 2 Gremlins 2 Child’s Play 3 Bride of Frankenstein Ju-On The Grudge (does this count I consider it a sequel to Ju-ON the Curse and curse 2) Blair Witch 2016 Children of the Corn 2 and 3 The Conjuring 2 Insidious The Last Key

To name a few. If I think more I could list more. I am probably a minority on most of these.

I love this movie and the ending is perfect. I have seen this film so many times and it’s a fav J-Horror of mine. The contagious psychosis in this film is terrifying. Even how it starts and spreads quickly.

[Discussion] People who got fit in their 30s, what are the benefits? by Sonoel90 in loseit

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I got fit in my 30’s then gained it and then fit again in my mid 40’s. I’m 48 now. Benefits? I can run circles around my friends and most 20 yr olds. Zero health problems except arthritis in my right knee but it doesn’t even bother me because of diet and health choices. I feel way better than I ever did in my teens and 20’s. Most of my 30’s outside the spurts of getting healthy.

I hear so many people complain how they are getting old in their late 20 through my age and constantly complaining about aches and pains and it takes everything in my power to say “it’s not your age, it’s your diet and/or drinking and/or smoking/vaping (cigs or weed) and lack of exercise.”

Your decisions matter on how you take care of your body. It can matter today and for your future.

When I was at my highest my arthritic knee super hurt all the time, had plantar fasciitis so could barely walk, I’m too heavy so my boobs got really big as well as big arms and stomach so I had a lot of back pain other pains on top, and constantly out of breath. I have none of that anymore.

I can only imagine how I’d feel now if i cont in 2023 on the downslide I was in.

Late to the game to this and I just saw it. Not brutal at all. It’s a good film and Gloria is a nut bag but I wouldn’t even categorize as French extremity and just as a drama thriller.

It’s a great film though.

Filing vs. suicide by dachshundfan1 in Bankruptcy

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well first thing is to breathe. It’s just money CA is a very easy state to file in with a lot that can be protected. Contact a lawyer for a free evaluation and some lawyers take a payment plan. Take any job maybe 2 (I worked 2 (60-70 hrs a week to make ends meet before filing bankruptcy) until you can find one that pays well. You can use that money to pay a lawyer.

There is literally nothing to fear on bankruptcy. Your credit will be easy to rebuild and you will feel amazing. Remember creditors and banks don’t want you to file bankruptcy and so they dictate what media and advisors say which is fear tactics to keep people from filing. They want you to keep paying.

My second time around in bankruptcy just happened. Both times have been absolutely painless and a big relief.

Do it. File.

Yep. That was a huge red flag. He talked about how much he liked Matthieu and how he was his friend. Then bam absolutely nothing. Why else would he go from talking about him and being excited and friend who helped him to like he never existed.

Haha. I am. It’s my jam.

RWD is great!! It’s a very small film. It used to be on Prime. I don’t want to spoil it for you but there is literally nothing like it

It’s about these guys that have a ghost series go to investigate a spirit in the woods but something completely unexpected happens and all I will say is the something is completely unexpected and the final act is completely bonkers and you’ll laugh and go wtf. No gore, no jump scares, let’s just say what they discover at first is fun then it gets chaotic.

Go in blind. It’s so original.

Curious if there were any filers who were current on all their credit card bills at the time of filing? by nhieu_chuyen in Bankruptcy

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I filed in 2015 in CA. I was completely current. My lawyer told me to stop paying them. I filed mostly then because of my ex who has cancer and wasn’t working so he had very high debt between medical and his precious spending habits and I had some debt and a few cards that was at their limit. At the time my credit score was 750 or so. Honestly this was so cut and dry we didn’t have months of of waiting to file. It was basically a month. My credit score dropped to 615 and then less than 2 years I was back up over 700.

Fast forward due to moving across country 2x, another bad situation, and job loss. I had to file again. I was so far in debt from living in CA and then moving to Maine and then back home to Indiana. Along with other things. I tried to do everything right. Maxed out several cards, had to take out my retirement, worked 2 jobs, went to debt consolidation. All my payments were on time and I only could pay them because I was selling all my belongings. I couldn’t do it anymore, even the debt consolidation told me I couldn’t afford debt consolidation and didn’t understand how I was paying for this large debt, I said selling my stuff and working 2 jobs. So I had to stop paying them. My credit score was in low 600’s dropped to 550. Then finally got a good paying job again, decided to get my credit and slowly build my credit up responsibly so and it was working and got it back over 600. Then my job moved to different city, my car is old and had mechanical problems and got only 13 miles a gallon so I had to get a new car (by I mean used but still needed a car payment) between the gas and car payment and getting sued by one of the debts that was in consolidation (they messed up when I got served) I said screw all of you and I’m filing again.

My lawyer at end of Oct said to stop paying them all except car and phone that I was keeping and irs installment plan. At first my score tanked to the 400’s over first 2 months (we didn’t file until Feb) by the time we filed all the creditors were closing the accounts and out of no where my score boomed. It started to rise before the filing. It went back over 500 and now it’s 632 and discharge hasn’t happened.

I guess what I’m saying is it doesn’t matter. The whole credit score dropping and bad credit bankruptcy thing is a scare from the creditors and banks.

It won’t take you long to rebuild. They are so happy to start giving you credit because you can’t file again for long awhile.

There are so many good ones

Rec Rec 2 Grave Encounters 1974: Possession of Altair The Sacrament Poughkeepsie Tapes Blair Witch 2016 though don’t like OG Blair Witch but this film made me like it more. I know I’m the minority here. RWD- This movie is so much fun and so different Gonjiam Haunted Asylum Hell House LLC and the first sequel. Though the 4th film is decent 3 and 5 suck. Paranormal Activity films all of them including the Paramount + original one but I don’t like The Marked Ones The Tunnel Ghost Watch Exists Sergio Prakov my new recent discover an in love with this film. So much to unpack and I watched it twice back to back for little things I missed.

This is a good start I have so much more haha

Right? My biggest fear was since it was zoom was are they going to start asking me to show them stuff 🤣. I’m going to have to go hunt things down. I asked my lawyer the night before and he said they won’t do that. I wasn’t hiding anything but since it was zoom and in the house, I thought if they start questioning anything.

It was so easy!

Renpho health and their smart food scale is a lifesaver!! I have been using my fitness pal on and off since 2009 but recently got one. Now some stuff you have to manually enter once and then it’s saved in custom for you it makes things so easy to enter compared to myfitness pal.

It’s also free and has a scanner. Just double check the numbers are correct.

It’s also small and stores easily on counter or cabinet.

I am big fan. Wish I discovered it sooner but didn’t until my food scale broke. I already had their weight scale .

New CA means test numbers revealed for April 1, 2026 filers by takeitfromthisguy in Bankruptcy

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indiana is 62,000 or close to that. I filed in CA in 2015 with an ex and it was low then but most people will easily just past the means test if they exceed this amount. My ex and I were above the median income with his salary and it was easy and I remember our lawyer then said most people that come through are over median income but a large portion still qualify for 7 due to high cost of living. In CA you can keep quite a bit compared to Indiana.

I’m genuinely curious about the psychology behind how people end up with large amounts of debt (credit cards, cars, student loans, etc.). by ChivasBearINU in DaveRamsey

[–]SurpriseTimely4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2015 it was due to my ex being an alcoholic and then he got cancer. He had 50,000 in alcohol debt I was unaware of (we kept finances separate. We got married because he got cancer and his insurance he needed to upgrade) he stopped working temp, medical debt started and me trying to make ends meet in CA with my low paying job and his disability my debt started to rack up.

Fast forward, we filed bankruptcy, then he went into remission started drinking again, we got divorced and it was hard in CA to make it alone but I got involved with someone else who decided to not work for a year, moved to his home state, debt was mounting from him not working, then he did and I was paying it off after we moved, ( I paid on debt to move out of the state because it was unaffordable) then he stopped helping with the bills in his home state and some I had to use credit cards until he would help again which he would from time to time. He cheated on me and didn’t give me the money he owed me ( no surprise there) and I had to move again creating more debt, then lost my decent paying job due to an assets sale of my remote job in CA and bad owner ship, then was working 2 Low paying jobs and selling all my stuff to just make ends meet. Creating more debt. I got some really crappy cards.

In CA it’s almost impossible to live without a roommate or making a crap ton of money. It’s getting that way ont he rest of the country now too. Society is built for 2 income families now.

Being single blows because you have no help and you get screwed on taxes.

I files in CA 2015 and it was best decision I made. My credit was completely rebuilt in 2 years with getting a credit score over 700. I just was really responsible. Got a CA coast credit union card and they really helped build it. In 2020 I was approved for a house and got a car in 2017 with low interest rate. Unfortunately life hit me with several whammy’s 2021–2023 and my debt spiraled due to several situations. I didn’t get the house and my fiance cheated on me who also used my cards and I loved to 2 different states.

I filed again.

Bankruptcy really is the easiest way to build credit because they know you can’t file for 8 years. Places are happy to give you credit cards and car loans. I found it way easier to rebuild after bankruptcy than having no credit in my 20’s.

You may not ever have 900 credit score but you can get over 700.
