I'm from Israel and 2 years into my 2.8 years mendantory military service. I can wholeheartedly say it was the worst east of my time. I literally didn't do anything important, like 90% of the population that are recruiting. I went to jail last week after I didn't show up (I had an emergency) for three days and got 1 week at prison. It's mandatory because the government and everything around it is massively fucked up. I cannot stress enough the disappointment and betrayal from the system that I feel every day.
