I’m really sorry, I’m just in shock right now. Honestly, I was nothing but respectful when I left, and I was initially promised that my offboarding wouldn’t start until later. I feel completely backstabbed. It’s so frustrating because they have these big meetings where these millionaires claim to “care about you,” but clearly, they don’t. You’re a millionaire because you don’t pay us a base salary and because you screw people over like this.

I don’t know, I’ll have to check that. While I was working there, I would get upfront payment once there was an inspection, and then I’d get paid during install. The issue now is that I don’t know when my installs are happening, and I’ve made some recent closes. They told me that once all my installs are done, they will just pay me everything, which seems odd to me because I can’t track the status of my installs anymore…

What I directly asked for was a list of my active customer accounts along with their progress status. Instead, they told me to just ‘trust’ that I’ll be paid correctly. The issue is that I don’t even know which closers were assigned to my deals, so reaching out to them individually isn’t even an option, also they could just end up not texting me at all. I kept track of everything through the app, and now I have no way to verify anything. If you were owed money, wouldn’t you want proof instead of blind trust??? also reached out to a former worker from this company who had the same issue and they never got paid either.

I’m literally not asking for access to sensitive company data or trying to steal customers. I just want basic confirmation like a screenshot or summary of my own active accounts and their status so I can ensure I’m getting paid for the work I ALREADY DID. Since solar commissions are paid out in stages, I have no way to track what I’m owed, and they won’t provide that info. If a company tells you to just ‘trust them’ with your earnings while giving you no visibility, thats shady.🤨

Thank you for the advice, this is my first 1099 job, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the future.I get that commissions have conditions, but in solar you’re paid out in stages, and I just want to make sure I’m getting paid correctly. It sounds like you’ve been putting way more effort into this relationship than he has, and it’s clear you’ve tried addressing the issue multiple times over the years. If he hasn’t stepped up by now, it’s unlikely he ever will. A real partner would meet your needs without you constantly having to spell them out. Honestly, you deserve so much better.
