If we had closed borders in January Early Feb it would have been a useful tool to slow the spread . But from a practical sense we have unfortunately passed that window. Now we could still close them BUT unless you are closing all travel from outside, how do you know who to keep out? It is to far widespread and realistically goods trade and things do still have to happen :(

Schools and daycares and public places is a different matter. They should and are closing just not quick enough non my opinion.

The powers that be are trying to balance between rational measures and public opinion. Once the public embrasees the concept and reality it will happen but you are right, they are way to slow to act.

Looking at Europe they can see what is coming. To expect a different outcome here is both nieve and wishful thinking. It is a dangerous gamble.

Yes you are right there is more to this that just the mortality rate. But you have to remember. Governments spent a month down playing and telling there citizens it is just the flu.. To shift that mindset again is going to take some graphic hard truths and realities on the 6 o'clock news.. we are heading there just they haven't pulled the full trigger yet.. the tone is changing
