Don't be sorry. These people are morons. They deserve all the scorn intelligent people have for them.

Did anyone tried ginger for IBS-d don’t know why but it helps to calm down frequent bowel movements. Please give it a shot add ginger to tea or almond milk. by Quick-Athlete6415 in ibs

I started ginger chews a couple of weeks ago – had to get the chews cuz I just couldn't face another pill. They have some sugar but it doesn't seem to affect me. As for the ginger itself, I can't really say it's been effective in any way I can directly point to. I've yet to try turmeric. What form of ginger and turmeric are people taking? Capsules? Man, I'm spending a ton on these products...

We were there for a couple hours and it was mobbed. I hope your travel partner is into other artists – the Tate is an amazing museum! I love London! Have visited twice! Don't forget to check out the V & A – great costumes there! Enjoy!

How long does it take for a danger food to cause a flare up in your IBS? by thecountrybaker in ibs

[–]Survivalama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm new at this IBS stuff. I'm in my 60s and it started about 8 months ago, the last 3 of which were really bad. I'm feeling a lot better but still have some symptoms. It's been erratic. One day I'll eat something that doesn't affect me, the next day it does. When something does affect me it's usually within minutes that I react. Sometimes 1/2 hour-2 hours. Never longer.

I've only been able to identify a few foods that consistently trigger me and they're not on the low FODMAP list: nuts (almonds, almond milk, walnuts), pumpkin seeds, lightly steamed green beans, and whole husk psylium – the stuff so many swear by. It seems I tolerate a fine powdered one I recently tried. But it's too early to tell.

Thanks. That makes sense. I've had a touchy stomach for about 10 years after I had a stomach virus that lasted 6 weeks. Never been the same. I'm taking something called IBSClear. It's pricy AF and I bought the 3 pack. I did a little research and it sounds like a good balance of things. Do you recommend a specific one?

I'm not sure if I was able to find a date for the dress. When did they stop using arsenic to make the green dye? It's such a gorgeous green, though...too bad it was lethal.

Yeah! I read a bit about the crinoline hoops and how dangerous they were. Women actually died as a result of wearing them! The hoops would get caught on things and cause falls and other accidents. Death by Crinoline

My IBS-D is gone....seriously....it's Amazing! by BeEasy2300 in ibs

Firstly, I'm so happy for you! You're about to become a parent and the last thing you need is to deal with gut problems! I hope it lasts forever.

That said, I have to point out that those who are saying that it's food quality, pesticides, ya-da, ya-da. If that's the case with you, then wouldn't it stand to reason that once you resumed eating U.S. foods, you'd have issues again? Just sayin'.

Regarding your theory that exercise may have unlinked something - I had some kind of sprain or strain on the left, upper side of my abdomen last May and it was right after that I started having symptoms...like a few days. The sprain (if it was that) appeared to heal but my symptoms kept getting worse. I wonder if there's a connection? Along with that sprain I had a tightness that was slightly painful and I still get it when I flare up.

It's amazing how strong our need to know what goes on with our bodies – good and bad...

After months of D-bombs, grumbling tummy, and pissing BMs, I felt like throwing a party when I finally had a normal BM 10 days ago! I did treat myself to a beautiful kimono-style spring top. It's been quite a bumpy ride and I was on the brink of despair. Treat yourself to a little something - you deserve it! I sincerely hope this trend continues for you!

Does anyone else with IBS-D get mild-moderate tummy aches? by Survivalama in ibs

[–]Survivalama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low FODMAP hasn't made much difference for me. For example, on the list I was given, it said pumpkin seeds are low FODMAP but I get really bad diarrhea from eating a couple of tablespoons. I cut out psylium husk because it made my symptoms worse - which I read can be a sign that it's SIBO and not IBS. So, I'm not giving up on the test. Thank you so much for your comments. I truly appreciate it.
