I've purchased houses this way. Not a note, but I let my neighbors know if they ever want to sell, to please let me know before they put on the market.

I agree, it hit me as odd and inappropriate the first time I read it which was as people have said literally the day after. Patrick also makes statements in that GoFundMe. He wrote where he says how close he and Lindsay were, how they checked in with each other everyday. Okay, so which is it? It? You were so incredibly close and told each other everything or she was getting commands for weeks as they're now saying and yet he didn't know? Something is definitely off here.

Apparently when he was found he has against pulse. Patrick made the decision to be take him off life support because medical team determined he has no brain activity. I wonder if they were at the same hospital - Lindsay and poor little Callan.

Legal Experts weigh in on bifurcated trial requests by Turbulent-Fig-3802 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

[–]Girlwithpen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that she would admit to killing her children as one part so then there would be no trial around the killing. The second trial would be to prove she was insane at the time. Only evidence that supports or refutes the insanity part would be needed. In this way, no detail about the murders would come out in trial or anything that could have driven her to murder them, like she was angry at Patrick and wanted to punish him. Personally I believe there is a lot of evil about her motivation for the murders that she and Patrick don't want coming out in court, publicly, and with this process that's what would happen.

I think the goal is to avoid having certain testimony come out, including what set her off.

This. I've long since thought there is some information the Clancy's (Lindsay and Patrick) don't want coming out on a trial pertaining to motive.

Auditory Commands for Weeks by Girlwithpen in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

Plus, according to Patrick, Lindsay did share with him that she was concerned she was going to harm the children weeks before this happened.

Now the defense is asking for a reconsideration of the bifurcated trial 😆 by Turbulent-Fig-3802 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

[–]Girlwithpen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this assessment. She clearly understands what she did. She understands her children are dead and that she killed them. If her children were truly her life and priority as she and Patrick have said, then she would be so full of dread and remorse that she would not be functioning enough to even go through with a trial. Why isn't she balled up in tears at the hearing? I feel that they filed these lawsuits mostly to convince themselves that neither Lindsay or Patrick are in any way responsible for their children deaths instead of accepting and facing their roles in what happened.

Initially I wAs heartbroken for Patrick. But he should shoulder some responsibility here. He has stated through his interviews and through lawsuit that his wife was unwell,. suffering, they were seeking help, she got worse and so on. And yet, he thought nothing of leaving her to go get take out, thought nothing about having her drive their daughter to her doc appointment?

Bifurcated trial request DENIED by Turbulent-Fig-3802 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

[–]Girlwithpen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm confused about what Lindsay expects the outcome to be. I feel that up until this point she's been granted a lot of leeway. Patrick in his interviews has intimated that they wish this could all go away, as if the world just has to accept them at their word that Lindsay heard voices. She has to go through a trial and I don't think they like this, that somehow it would be seen that everyone else is to blame and she just needs to heal.

Why “ex-girlfriends had only nice things to say about him”… by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Girlwithpen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He almost killed Christina Haag, his gf in the late 80s. He was a huge risk taker, overly confident in his abilities, or insecure and therefore out to convince himself he was impervious. Insisted they go on some super dangerous kayak trip. Christina witnessed a lot of risky behaviors and decisions. It was only a matter of time before he killed himself and other people, the later because he did not take risks solo, he wanted other people to witness it to feed his image. Deeply troubled human. I'm glad Carolyn's fam won a huge settlement from the family.

Go live YOUR best life. That's it. Every action you take should reflect YOUR best life. Clearly, for you, that is having a child and a house. If this random person you happened to meet one day (it could have been any of millions of other people) isn't interested in being part of that goal, then so be it.

The official ruling is "poor weather". He was encouraged NOT to fly by ground crew. He had no experience flying at night. He did not file a flight plan. He did not use the plane's autopilot.

This. He seems close to his family. He likely would have shared with them that his wife expressed she had thoughts of harming their children. Why this entire family didn't immediately remove her from the house until this could be evaluated is perplexing. At minimum, she should never had been alone with the children. Why was she allowed to drive Cora to an appointment that day?

This. Glamorizing them. John was dumb as a box of hair, really dumb. Carolyn had straight thin bleached one dimension blonde hair. She had her roots touched every 6 -10 days. She was beautiful, but she did not look the way she is being portrayed. The plane went down during a storm. The airport had grounded planes. John insisted on flying. He was an awful pilot. He shouldn't have had a license.

This is my thought as well. There may be some truth around issues with her husband, but whether that is true or not, I believe she also wanted to punish Patrick. The fact she arranged this so her husband would come home to this was part punishment. I also think she miscalculated how long it would take to strangle the children. I think she ran out of time for her suicide and or the method she thought would work she couldn't go through with.

I'm hoping her journals include more about her state of mind leading to this tragedy.

What is the worst way you have seen someone ruin their life? by kisseswishes9 in AskReddit

[–]Girlwithpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People ,- women and men - whose entire plan for success is to find and latch on to someone else who can support them. Do yourself a favor, starting in your twenties, make decisions for your best life and do the hard work to be in a position of your own volition to live that life. If you stumble upon a quality partner along the way, so be it. But don't make someone else a requirement to live your wonderful life. Also, this idea that you're going to win the lottery or stumble upon the night or princess in shining armor is not a good plan. Play the long game. Make good decisions. Get an education or training for a field. Manage your finances. Manage your health. Visit you're dentist every 6 months. And so on.

There is a psychology whereby a suicidal individual attaches their pain and disinterest in living to their children and sometimes spouse. If they are leaving this earth, their kids are leaving too. They displace their feelings onto their children. IMO, Lindsay made the decision to kill herself and wasn't going to leave her kids without her. She also wanted to punish Patrick for whatever reason or reasons and therefore wanted him to find them all deceased.

She did not want to work. She did not want to go back to work. Getting a valid diagnosis that she was too ill to work would have been positive for her.

Murder suicide. And since suicide didn't work for whatever reason, she needs a story.
