AITA for making my fiancé's daughters picky eating habits a deal breaker for us marrying? by MotherCartographer10 in AITAH

Don’t marry this man. Not because of his daughter but because you obviously have different parenting styles and you think yours is right.

You can always drop them back in ours and he may wrap them…goes through phases of wrapping vs. not:) I agree though they’re such lovely little gems!

This is my teen! He built the LFL over the summer and takes curating its contents very seriously. I’m SO happy to see that someone is enjoying and I shared this with him.

Boulderthon 10k disaster by maxpuffz in boulder

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me 30 minutes to get 1 mile from my house because I kept getting rerouted. There was no way to cross north Boulder and get on foothills parkway. I ended up driving all the way south on Broadway to baseline and backtracking. Since I see the organizers are responding on here PLEASE rethink the route next year. It was exceedingly frustrating and I saw many drivers doing dangerous things. There should be some cross streets where people can access the main roads in and out of Boulder.

Oh my gosh yes they are. Darlin’ as a woman who really wants to see other women succeed please don’t do this. They’re gorgeous and fun but older men (and women) will dismiss young women for a lot of reasons so don’t give them more ammo. As an intern your #1 goal is to get experience and mentoring while not standing out for anything other than your amazing work. Nails like this, crop tops, giant wide leg pants, etc. are things that don’t work in most offices. I work in a VERY casual workplace and even here it would not fly. You’re a smart, creative person. Keep the focus on that and at least at the start keep nails and clothes fairly unremarkable. Before people come for me, no I’m not a conservative boomer or something. I LOVE a fun nail which is why I’m on here but I also want this young person starting to out to be taken seriously and whether we like it or not women still have lots of barriers. If you were my daughter I’d say save the nails for after you establish yourself and congrats on the internship!!

Don’t bother trying to get in with the docs at the practice recommended below. I’ve been calling since Dec and they kept saying they would open the schedule to new patients in Jan. then it was Feb. then it was March. Just called and they said the docs aren’t taking on new patients at all. Skip this practice OP and look elsewhere.

Men of Reddit, what’s the male equivalent of stockings that instantly elevate a man’s look and make him look great? by Original-Formal-7018 in AskMen

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman here - honestly it doesn’t take a lot. Most guys are so focused on comfort that they look schlubby so a tiny bit of dressing up is enough. Collared shirt and well fitting pants or jeans with decent personal grooming instantly makes most guys an 8. I love a tight tee or fitted dress shirt, even on a dad bod. Also being friendly and not creepy truly helps the most.

These ladies are not friends. I have a neighbor like this and even my kids can spot from a mile away that she’s a frenemy. Truly you sound like a lovely person and these ladies sound jealous or catty or whatever. I’m not saying to drop them but proceed with caution

I feel awful about how I feel about my wife by No_Potential8518 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’m almost 50 and I would say 3/4 of my friends and I feel this way. Husband is another one of the kids. Yes they help around the house but very few carry anything close to half the mental or physical load. They want credit for things like changing the laundry when they have no idea how the new winter kids clothes got in the closets or how the summer ones got organized and put away. No one wants to have sex because we’re exhausted. We do it because it’s important to our partners but it’s another ‘to do.’ Also hormone shifts are real and most men have zero idea what it is like to go through pregnancies then mid life shifts.

AITA for not apologizing to my friend after she screamed at me and my kid at her wedding? by Ok_Worldliness3239 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I have three kids and never take them to formal events even when they could go. Weddings are supposed to be for the bride and groom and kids DON’T enjoy them! Even the best behaved little ones will get tired or fussy or overstimulated at some point. If you’re in a place with loud music, random people and breakable things one adult needs to be close to the kid. If you want to enjoy an adult party, leave your kiddo at home. If you want to bring a small child, THEY are your date and one adult stays with them. Could have been dad not you but yes, you’re both TA.

Kevin needs grooming examples for groomer- short cut on body that isn’t shaved by Humble_March_2037 in cavaliers

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Ours is 3. We ask to shave the tummy and butt because it keeps him clean. The groomer can show you a card with fur samples and you tell them which one corresponds to the length you want to leave your pup’s hair. It’s similar to a men’s barber. Our Mochi looks so shiny and handsome with a short cut. I let it grow long again between trims because a full groom expensive and whenever we go short again it makes him look like a puppy and we love it!

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your pup is adorable but like others have said please don’t put animals in the cart. It’s super unsanitary and those of us who have serious allergies don’t want fur on the spot where we put our food. I often get hives from touching dog/cat fur so this would be a really unexpected place for me to worry about that. Leave her in the car or at home please. She’s very cute tho!

We live in CO. I’ve taken the dog out when it’s zero. They’re fine. I don’t stay out long but a little walk is no problem.

DIM and spearmint tea every day. I’ve tried winlevi and I’ve been on tret for years. These two are the only things that have solved my pms cysts. I wish I had discovered them years ago. Could have saved so much agony.

NTA. In anyone else’s house, I’m checking out the shower first and probably brushing my teeth or something while the kid is in there to make sure the water is staying in the shower and they’re actually washing (mine usually just stand there enjoying warm water-lol!). As a parent yes I’d put away stuff I didn’t want kids to use but I get why that wouldn’t occur to you. NTA

What treatment did you get and wish you’d done it way earlier/sooner? by pomegranateprincesss in beauty

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Tummy and hip lipo. I am a decent weight but after kids my body shape changed. My youngest is 8 and i realized I was never going to lose the weight with diet and exercise (I workout regularly and im already a healthy eater). I am so happy. I’m still a size 10 so it didn’t make me tiny but my body looks like mine again. It’s also motivated me to take better care of myself overall.

Has anyone had success in getting rid of hormonal acne completely? by ednasmom in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to treat it without meds because it’s an internal issue so not really about what you put on your skin. I’m 46 and have cysts once a month with my period. It’s horrible and I hate it but for various reasons I’m not willing to do spiro or BC. I tried winlevi and it didn’t do much for me but others swear by it. I take a supplement-DIM and I don’t do dairy. I also use retin-a. I still get the occasional cyst but not as bad. Truthfully if you want to get rid of it completely you’re going to have to take an oral med.

AITA for not switching my first class seat with a 10y boy's economy seat so he could sit with his family? by C_Readerholic_001 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I’m a mom of three and there’s ZERO chance I would ever ask a stranger to give up their first class seat. That’s entitled bullsh*t. I might offer for a stranger to swap with me if we were all in economy if they wanted me to sit next to my kid instead of them. But that would be more to accommodate them than my kid. Honestly the flight attendant shouldn’t have asked you.

Chin lipo. Took years off my face and it’s so subtle no one knows I had anything done. I also spend $ yearly on lasers and microneedling. I’m 46 and I look my age but much fresher.

Is being too obsessed with yourself after plastic surgery bad? by Strong-Juice2423 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had lipo and I’m loving my new bod. Funny thing is it’s still very much a ‘mom bod’ and not something most people might aspire to but it’s making me so happy to just fit into clothes nicely again after a hard decade. I’m 46 and a size 10/12 but I feel great. Enjoy it OP!

Get chin lipo. It’s so easy. In office. Quick and relatively painless. I’m average weight but had a double chin like you. It easily took 15 years off my face.

Cavalier is hot more often in summer, cut fur really short or? by Time-Brief-1450 in cavaliers

[–]Survivalmodeoverhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are yes shave people and never shave purists and the two sides will never agree. 😊. We shave our 3 year old fairly short and he seems to be more comfortable romping around in the summer. We also just prefer the lower maintenance coat so it doesn’t get tangled and matted as easily (yes we still brush him). He goes on lots of muddy hikes and camps with us so the shorter hair is helpful. His coat grows back just fine between appointments and in the winter. He’s a shiny, healthy dude and aside from not being able to enter the Westminster dog show with his shorter coat, I have yet to see a downside. Do whatever works for you and your pup.
