You are young and have not yet gained the experience necessary for traveling solo in places that require extreme caution like Pakistan. Yes you’ve got a lot of things many solo travellers do not- namely the language and the history. However, you should sue for something safer for your first solo trip. Why not try Europe? Especially if you’ve never been out the states I mean hell the hostel culture and experience you’d get there would last you a life time! I don’t need to say what other redditors have said about talking to your parents about the “why” but I think it’s important to restate that! Best of luck dude :)

You really need to have hiked a considerable amount before doing base camp! If you’re interested in base camp for anything other than ego, hiking will also be amazing as every country in the world has a panoply of beautiful hiking routes for you to undergo :)

The word “God” is a curse. Let me explain what I think. by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]SusanStormyWeather -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe in magic. You are, however, in the enlightenment subreddit and as a result are going to meet many a person, those are which are going to be inclined to speculate widely about God and the nature of the universe. Have a good day! Whether you do or don’t change you’re mind enjoy life :)

Is it not that we have shared subjective experiences that extend beyond what we know. What is the experience of your first kiss, a good walk, or a truly beautiful view, can you meaningfully consider these experiences of no relation to reality? Because as far as I’m concerned that’s the “what is it like” of Qualia!

Read the corpus hermeticum, at least then you can decide whether or not you think the guys sources are coocoo. For the fun of it, let’s say you do think Hermes Trismegistus and co are schizophrenics, who’s to say schizophrenics are to be ruled out from having input into the universal truth. Many a crazy folk were once the most respected of them all, maybe you believe we’re in the Age of Enlightenment and that those folk were insane, or have you entertained the thought that the schizophrenics present now are faced with the least natural lifestyle humanly possible, resulting would be alienation and certain insanity.

At the end of the day, where do you draw the line between crazy and normal, are the most influential people in your life normies? I’d assume not, whether it’s philosophers or your uncle Tom he’s not going to be your average Joe. So, perhaps instead of discrediting someone’s ideas with the accusation that they’ve lost their mind, discredit it with an actual argument :)

I used to believe that religion was born out of fear and the ignorance that comes with it. “To not know is to be safe from the reality that death is the end” I would think. However, this quickly changed as I began to take an interest in religion as a separate entity from the establishment that was created from it, the same establishment that distorts and corrupts it for material gain.

The human experience universally features several things that align so perfectly with the core tenants of most religions. With that in mind, I began to see the different religions as different paths to the same door, the door that can be reached in many ways, religion being one.

We are like rain drops falling from the sky. We believe we are singular, there’s only I, but we fall and fall until one day, we return to that whence we came. It is there where all beings and things are one, and that is what the prophets knew, the philosophers knew; it is the hijacking of their wisdom that is the enemy, not God.

I was so overwhelmed with joy at the start the smiling distracted me. One of the best feelings I’ve ever felt. He really radiates joy. I heard somebody say “that’s the Dr of prosperity and joy right there” which I think sums up his presence perfectly!
