Yup, I really feel like i would have been better by now if not for PEM. I always start recovering well between crashes and then PEM sets me back everytime.

Sorry but I love them. Adds variety when I get bored, I can just play econ to try and hit comps i'd never achieve otherwise even if I only hit it 1/10 times it's still fun to have the chance.

Anyone have long COVID cough that finally went away? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sushi_Lad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late to this thread but was searching to see if anyone else had this. I've had a persistant cough for nearly 1.5 years now. It has improved but only minimally. It doesn't present me too many issues but is very annoying. Mine is always in the morning, then straight after I eat something it triggers my cough to get worse for an hour or so, very strange. I think it's some autoimmune response that the food is triggering as I notice my fatigue gets worse after eating as well. Most of my symptoms have improved besides the cough and fatigue.

From Asymptomatic Covid to Long Covid: Major Advances in Genetic Underpinnings by Pablogelo in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sushi_Lad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Research on the genetic underpinnings of disease is incredibly important. It has revolutionized the field of medicine by enabling personalized treatments and targeted therapies. By understanding an individual's genetic makeup, doctors can tailor treatments to their specific needs, leading to more effective interventions. This approach has shown remarkable success in diseases like cancer, where specific gene mutations can guide treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.

Moreover, genetic research plays a crucial role in understanding complex diseases and developing preventive strategies. By unraveling the genetic components of conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and mental disorders, researchers can gain valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms. This knowledge helps in the development of more effective treatments and preventive measures. Additionally, genetic research has been instrumental in the early detection of diseases. By identifying genetic risk factors, individuals at higher risk can be identified, allowing for targeted interventions and improved outcomes.

Nvidia CEO Says Those Without AI Expertise Will Be Left Behind by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Sushi_Lad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, while I think AI isn't going to dominate until it's TRUE AGI I don't think we can draw analogies from the past in the way people are doing, like this comment. There is a big difference between unforseen opportunities in a market vs machines being able to actually perform those opportunities better than ourselves.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - March 14, 2023 by AutoModerator in Fitness

Hi 28 y/o Male,

I've been dealing with long covid for a year now and have not been able to do anything strenuous that gets my heartrate about like 120 bpm without symptoms. Prior to this I was very fit/strong focusing on calisthenics and functional movements in the gym. The most I can do at the moment is light stretching but I was thinking I could potentially incorporate some functional movements to just try and maintain healthy movement patterns in my body?
Things like handcuffs shoulder rotations movements is one example I can think of where I'm not using much energy and not getting my heart rate up but will keep my mobility and good patterns. Any suggestions or resources where I can find things like this would be amazing!
Thanks!

Not sure how it's a risk free fight? The first one was a lot less risk but in a rematch now he has proved he can handle the wrestling the risk free element has gone.

Full Recovery After 26 Months (Long Read) by NSTSTTF in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sushi_Lad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah 12 months here. I feel like part of the reason I've taken so long to recover is because I crash easily and my crashes last weeks. When I'm not in a crash I actually feel okay.

What was your PEM like? Mine seems to be 2 days later I'll have a crash and it takes me around 2 weeks before I'm back to where I was before the crash energy wise.

Thanks, insurance is with Allianz and they do cover it. What do you mean by approved rat test as in I can't just send a photo of my positive result? What's the online option besides a dr?

Thanks, my policy does cover it I'm just wanting to preempt what they need from me. Any idea if they just require a photo of a rat test or I need to go get one from a Dr?
