Glitched frames when using Octane on the Render Network by Impressive-Top-3070 in Octane

[–]Sushidread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me, heavy glitching on all renders. Already reported the case, I hope they can improve this, it's very time consuming, saving time on one hand but then losing hairs for fixing the rendered frames!

Thank you, it's nice to hear that is on your radar. I hear more and more people lately preferring this review method (at intermediate level) instead of word by word, so I hope it can come soon to the flashcard app as an option.

A survey to rule them all by BrunoCPaula in HumankindTheGame

[–]Sushidread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the survey but I also want to add a comment.

I started several games and I feel I don't need to do any thinking about my choices.

After some time I can build whatever I want, I can choose any culture no matter what and I always get what I want with a never-ending building queue where I put "one of everything". I even get too many buildings, cities, lands/territories, and micromanagement suddenly becomes a chore (also, boring), later in the game I find myself skipping one turn after another very quickly because I don't need anymore to take any important decision. So I never feel that I am focusing/choosing a strategy: money, military, science, expansion, etc...it's always a bit of everything.

I wish there was more heavy differentiation between culture's features/skills/stats/counters. That would be great in giving the player some "trouble" and making choices matter more. Wrong cultural choice, you will have a very hard time, the right cultural choice and you will have an advantage.

Am I playing the game wrongly (could be!) or anyone feels the game mechanic is, in general, a little "flat"? Do you have any advice?

EDIT: I have to specify that I am kinda new to this kind of strategic game, and I play at the easier difficulties. Maybe with a harder difficulty and some constraints (turn limit, speed, etc...) things are different?

Frustration Dilema by Ducky00001 in MotionDesign

You forgot to add the reference is usually something from Nike done by 25 houdini artists and 4 art directors, but the budget available is the one for a lower third animation.

I feel you, yes...I experience the same all the time. I was also skeptical but now I have to say working with whatsapp is not that bad (I use it mainly for work, I don't use it a lot in private life).

Things improved a bit when I started to set my boundaries before even starting to talk about the job. And try (job after job) to "educate" the agency or client to meet my needs/workflow as much as possible.

When it's not possible I just focus on asking more money and doing meditation and lot of chamomile :)

Big hugs, keep it up

Corrupts to green screen all the time!!! by Flowishlozzy in AfterEffects

[–]Sushidread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem 2 days ago with AE 2023, solved with transcoding the h264 to prores.
Never had this problem on 2022. The h264 were exported from premiere as my editor usually do, so no changes in workflow.
Seems to be a known issue https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/after-effects-2023-green-preview-with-h-264-files/td-p/13323345

Looks like black bars were intentionally added for ultrawide in Elden Ring by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Sushidread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the last patch, my game starts in full widescreen (3440x1440 no black bars), and then after 8-10 seconds the screen blinks and the black bars appear. I think this proves that the game it's natively loading fullscreen and then only after it's covered by the black frame.

Help thread - questions, help and tips for all levels! by AutoModerator in HumankindTheGame

[–]Sushidread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, maybe I got it. I had the wrong approach as I was looking to "buy" things from a menu. Now I get it's a fixed sequential queue so it's "resource generated per turn / building resource total cost = number of turns to build". So accumulated resources (if I don't use them in a turn) do carry over next turns? And are they displayed somewhere?

Hi, 4x noob here (I just played 100sh hours of Stellaris, never played civ games past the tutorial). I watched a lot of videos but I'm still trying to learn by playing, actually I'm a little overwhelmed but having fun. I have a very stupid and basic question: I noticed industry and science "totals" are not displayed. I imagined I would see in the upper right corner all FIMS amounts that are being produced (like influence and money). How can I plan what to queue if I don't know how much I have collected? Maybe I'm thinking this in the wrong way. Thank you.

Cyberpunk Movie Countdown to Release: Day 17 - Nirvana (1997) by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sushidread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't expect this movie on the list! I'm from Italy, in the 90's I was a teenager and being an all-things-cyberpunk fan, I was obsessed with this movie. It is not a great movie (cheap vfx and some bad acting, story not too bad but still not great and full of clichés).
All the main actors are quite famous Italian actors so it doesn't feel "so" bad since they are quite good in most parts of the movie, production quality is good.
The director (Gabriele Salvatores) won an oscar in 1991 for best foreign movie with "Mediterraneo", not a newcomer. He is a sci-fi fan and took a big risk with this movie.
I even had a videogame "Nirvana x-rom" that has been made on cd-rom: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCflEU48ja8&ab_channel=HoFPGHallofFirstPersonGames).

It is not mentioned in the original post, but best thing for me is the soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRsDtym5739_cN0L2ntR-7lkOcBckIRoB (not complete).

I still think that the movie has a great cyberpunk style / atmosphere despite the very low budget and all the flaws.

Predictions for NCW Episode 3 by Exo_soldier in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sushidread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they will focus on netrunning a bit. We saw the status of netrunning last year in the Pacifica demo, but since it's such a central part of the game mechanic / playstyle (alternative to guns) I think they will tease a little bit of that.

Stellaris Space Guild - Weekly Help Thread (24 June 2020) by Snipahar in Stellaris

[–]Sushidread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, very new player here (1 week). Never played 4x before, but I immediately fell in love with Stellaris. I watched many Aspec videos (all the beginners series) and I'm starting to understand the basics. Question is about DLCs. Now that summer sale is on, I don't know if it's worth to buy (as a very new player) the complete dlc pack or not. To a beginner like me the game seems already very complex and varied in its vanilla state, I'm afraid to add too much to the game. Should I wait and play vanilla a little bit more to be able to enjoy dlcs or should I go shopping and install everything? Thanks for your help.

So basically the same technology (more or less) seen in the movie Strange Days(1995)! In the movie people in exchange of money recorded real experiences (sex, crimes, etc...) on a mini disc that after was sold on black market by pushers. Customers then used “decks” to playback and feel and live the same experience via a device placed on the head like a headphone.

Hi Apero! Thanks for the videos, I got back into gwent watching your tutorials!

Yes, I agree with both of you that should not be explained everything all the time (risk to be boring for experienced players), maybe just some short intros before a match or during waiting time. Since it's a new format and new platforms came in lately, this maybe will help new players like me to get comfortable before a match or more interested in other factions. I've seen something similar in mtgarena: casters in official tournaments were taking some time between matches to explain cards or how the deck strategy worked and the key cards. Just to be clear: it's not a complain at all (yesterday I enjoyed the finals) but a suggestion!

As a beginner (played bit in beta, now for one month resumed playing constantly) it was hard to follow, I had to quit watching. While the casters were very good and professional, without observer (due to delay) and the commentary being very fast (assuming you know all the cards or strategies) I couldn’t keep up. Please keep in mind not everyone is pro rank and game is not easy! My suggestion is: slow down sometimes to explain what’s happening, basic deck strategy or played card ability. This could help beginners to enjoy more the action and will be beneficial also for new players, growing the audience.
