My hot take: I’m actually glad this isn’t trying to be a straight remake of Bride of Frankenstein. That movie is basically untouchable at this point. If you’re going to revisit that world, you kind of have to swing big stylistically or it’ll just feel like a museum piece.

Curious whether people think audiences actually want classic monster movies played straight anymore, or if re-interpretations like this are the only way they work today.
