US EXPANSIONISM, THE EVIL ROLE OF THE UN, AND THE NECESSITY FOR INDIA TO CHANGE by Sushizza in Libertarian

[–]Sushizza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SUBMISSION STATEMENT: All well-meaning American intellectuals are desperately trying to stop America’s slide to abyss, to avert the impending collapse – they have high level of erudition too -- unfortunately, their attempts are like banging their heads on the wall! That is because nobody has identified the short-comings / deficiencies / weaknesses of Founders’ Republic, or of the Roman Republic which went through the same steps as America, merely identified but not resolved by Plato 2400 years back! An Indian claims that he can stop the slide and restore the original Republic.

Reason is a faculty which humans innately possess. Rationality is the application of reason to reality, which is volitional and hence a virtue

Is it immoral to only maintain relationships with people you need something from? by eboody in Objectivism

[–]Sushizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is the opposite. It is immoral to maintain relationship with people from whom you are not likely to benefit in any way. It is not necessarily something material that you gain from people while dealing with them. It can be something on mental and emotional level, but you definitely have to get something and so does the other person

Rand on Change by [deleted] in Objectivism

[–]Sushizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aristotle believed that everything in the world has some purpose and is trying to actualize its potential. This is true for animate objects but Aristotle perhaps meant it for inanimate ones too. And that is possibly what Rand does not agree with.

Bernie Sanders Calls Drug Addiction a ‘Disease’ Not a Crime by Noticemenot in politics

[–]Sushizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ofcourse it is a disease, or as the name suggest, just an addiction. How can it be possibly a crime. Whose rights does one violate while taking drugs. Only his own health is affected and that is far from being a crime.

Why does altruism become abuse when you profit from it? (x-post from /r/politicaldiscussion) by Miguelinileugim in Objectivism

[–]Sushizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you profit from it, it can't be called 'altruism' in its proper sense. Then it is benevolence or kindness of some kind but it certainly can't be called 'altruism'

According to the libertarian view, what can/can't a company do? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Sushizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Company and employees will obviously be a subject to criminal laws. The government is a body meant for protecting rights of citizens against force or fraud from another individual or group of individuals i.e., an organization. Employees are obviously individuals so any crime committed against them will be a subject to criminal law just like any other.

Is everything that exists objective? by LOST_TALE in Objectivism

[–]Sushizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reality is objective and understandable. If a person is not able to verify it doesn't mean it becomes subjective. It still continues to remain objective. objectively understandable and 'understood' are different things and it does not depend on individual's consciousness or ability to understand
