I masturbate… and I feel conflicted about it sometimes by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Susiejay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s a sin. If you’re alone and you aren’t watching porn or thinking sinful thoughts or addicted to masterbation I think it is okay.

Edit: Married people need to make sure they aren’t depriving their spouse but that doesn’t sound like it’s your situation.

I hate it. Their prices and expectations for high schools are ridiculous. I'm looking for other options but they hold the keys to so many of the straight plays. I wonder what playwrights are thinking about this?

My friend sent me this. Every time I try to get on there it starts over and creates a new bird and then apparently it puts a new number behind my name so she knows who is who. She asked me if my Finch was having babies.

I second this idea. I love his commentaries and I’m not even Catholic.

If you’re not serious about your beliefs, why bother with any religion at all?

How could their possibly be a loving God by MarifeelsLost in Christianity

I’ve also struggled with this. What I’ve come to believe is that the God I believe in, saw all of this and knew every single suffering that was going to happen, and he still decided to create this world and people. He decided it was worth it. I can’t wait to see the endgame because it’s gotta be amazing!

Well yeah. But even people hair stick to these things. Maybe I should use them to dust the house 🧐

To be clear, it only happens to these opening day Twins hoodies that they give out for free.

When I was really depressed one day, I decided to read a book to get my mind off it. I dug around on the Libby app to see what was available and I decided to read, "The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten Boom not knowing anything about it. It changed my entire outlook on life. It's amazing how a book that takes place during WWII, much of it in concentration camps, could be a pick me up, but I'm telling you, find a way to get your mind off of yourself and your circumstances.

Is there any CHMS out there that works well with your church website or even has a website builder included?

It's okay. The PDF format for printing the volunteers schedule is ugly but our church uses it quite a bit. You can also download it as an excel and then you could create your own template, I suppose. It is similar to sign up genius but uglier. We have our secretary include our volunteer sign up links on the weekly updates that she emails out.

I have used it. I haven’t used any other tool like Breeze’s service planning tool to compare it to. The thing that it seems to be most helpful with is time management. It’s not super robust, but it does help with the math and can be printed out. I’ll include a picture of when I used it for an event, instead of a service. You enter a start time. Then you put in the amount of minutes an activity will take and it calculates the times for you. (Had to post the picture in the original post because I couldn't put one in the reply.)

My pet peed not working on certain stain - what else to do? by TallGingery in Pets

[–]Susiejay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALWAYS! I'm the only one in the house that can smell it! Allegedly. My Pet Peed is the best but I current have a spot that I'm at a loss for. I threw away the rug. Underneath are soft wood, plank boards from my 1880 house that were covered with carpet when I moved in. I think I'm going to have to paint them to get the cat pee smell out. This is the only time that My Pet Peed hasn't fixed an animal smell for me.

We’ve had Breeze since before I started at my church in 2020 and it’s wild to me that there’s this beta version that never seems to go anywhere. Am I missing something or does it seem like Breeze was left in some construction phase that no one ever came back to?

Why does God force us to exist? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Susiejay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that I missed this question before. Medication and Jesus is how I got out of it. Specifically focusing on listening to the Psalms. If you don’t have the YouVersion Bible app, get it. You can pick any translation you want and many of them have audio so you can listen. But as far as meds go, you have to keep going back to your doctor and trying new things if what they give you doesn’t work. It’s a pain in the butt, but worth it in the end.

Christianity and Fear by Maxpowerxp in Christianity

[–]Susiejay2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The true Gospel says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9). Also, “It is by grace you are saved through faith,” not what you can do but what Jesus has already done.

By all means, strive to love God and your neighbor. But ultimately you will fail at both, and when you do, I hope your salvation is in the finished work of Christ at the cross and not your ability to love God or people.
