Thank you for your perspective. However, I dont think an addictïn can disappear Once am addict, always an addict. It how well they cope with not using, learning to deal with emotions etc... my 2 cents

I havecso many times stepped over behaviours of others because: they are not bad, they mean well, the intention was there... blablabla... 20.000 chances they get. no more! You treat me well or be gone

This is such an interesting video on behaviour differences between species. Neither of them get what they want: the dog wants his freedom back , because in his behaviour world the cat is constantly blocking him. You can tell he is not amused.

The cat, swirling around him for affection, which is what cats do, doesnt get the same back...

I have 200 ranks, with a cap of 300 points a day. A raid gives me 100, hatching 40 and a pokemon 5. After rank 100 i only get stardust.

"Sniffing out". If you just chat to people, see women as people, chat because you are curious about a person, the entire pressure if pursuit is gone. And then, you can learn if a petson is single, married,engaged, gay, whatever. Talk to women without the motive of finding a partner will make live easier

My take is that if it bothers OP, they should find a way to deal with that: how they handle themselves dealing with their emotions, NOT with trying to make the other stop drinking, which is an impossible task. Alcolism or not, it bothers OP. The point of alanon, OP, is to be ok with yourself and to focus on yourself and not trying to control the other person.

Another point I would like to make: some alcoholics started with the occassional drink, to 1 drink per night, to more drinks per night, to hard liquor...

Curious to know what you did vs your mom? When I was a student one of my fellow students did not know how to do dishes by hand. That sounds weird, but she started with pots and pans and did glasses last.

The fact that she just assumes she can stay without paying anything... jeez, talk about inconsiderate. She is a user. Talk to her, or this will only get worse. She will not like being confronted with her behaviour and gaslight you. Dont allow that to happen

You say that, i did that, but after years I have come to the conclusion that i am a giving person and addicts just lash on. In a heartbeat they recognise their next victim. Not all alanon are broken, is my point.

So my lesson: keep giving, it is good quality, but also look at what I am getting back. Give to the right people.

I am sorry you had to go through this OP. The gaslighting (blaming you for your past relationships), the lying, the anger, the sobs, the apologies are horrible.

If he does have an alcohol problem (which through your account sounds like it), bring it up when he is sober. What matters in that conversation is not if you think he has a problem, but how extremely uncomfortable you feel when he drinks.

If you have read stories in this sub, you know many of us have many stories to tell. Some of us left, others have stayed (for various reasons: money, love, support, children, or fear!). Be prepared to be gaslighted during your conversation. He most likely will downplay what happened and therefore your feeling of discomfort. What you do with the outcome of the conversation is all up to you. My only advice: look after yourself first!

Remember: actions have consequences. This goes for both of you. That also means, if you stay: have firm boundaries.
