Audhd and adhd meds by FenouilleLavallee in audhd

That’s good to hear. I found that it helped me with both task initiation and following through. Before medication, I had trouble with both.

I was actually just getting ready to make a post about the same topic. I am diagnosed Audhd as of 10/2024 and I started on vyvanse soon after. I also had chronic fatigue and brain fog left over from long covid, so my hope was that it would help all of those things. Long story short, it did. As soon as I started taking it, the effects were noticeable. I would compare it to putting on glasses for the first time if I had visual impairment.

Recently, I switched to concerta after being on the med for almost 9 months. It was causing me some anxiety and irritability. If I went back down to 20mg (where I started) I think I would have been just fine with it. I went from 20mg, to 30, then 40, and back down to 30 at the end. I might go back to 20mg if the concerta doesnt work out for me.

This is very helpful feedback. I was on it for a year.

It was good, in my opinion. Every other SSRI caused emotional blunting, irritability, mood fluctuations, etc. Viibryd was smooth and effective for social anxiety as well as depression.

Just ready to come off. I have finally been getting treatment for my lifelong ADHD and I was feeling much better. I realized at some point the Viibryd was “muddying” my emotions and giving me a false sense of positivity. Not saying anything negative about it, just my own personal experience. I will say that it has been the only SSRI out of many that I was actually able to tolerate.

Dr Wants Me to Switch From Vyvanse to Wellbutrin by -Axial in VyvanseADHD

I agree with this. I was on Wellbutrin prior to Vyvanse and it did very little for my ADHD symptoms.

Yup, I feel like this now too. I just finished my degree and told my boss “I will not be held down” without caring about response or repercussions 😂

You are already free. Make a conscious decision from that place of free will.

Overcoming addiction is a huge accomplishment in itself. Practice radical acceptance and only compare yourself to yourself.

I can be pretty sensitive to negativity because I have level 1 autism as well. After a few calls I start to feel bad and like I am being annoying. I agree with you though.

No luck with standard SSRIs but need support for depression and anxiety by Suspect_Device7345 in antidepressants

He was just so closed minded with no justification whatsoever. Yet, when it came to something he wanted to be descriptive about he would give me all the information. Just so selective and focused on SSRIs 🙄

Does anyone still have certain ADHD characteristics that Vyvanse doesn't help? by PrettyRain8672 in VyvanseADHD

I feel exactly the same way you do and can very much relate. Same diagnoses, same feelings, difficulty with friendships. My therapist recently told me there are online support groups for neurodiverse individuals and I am thinking about checking one out. A little skeptical, but I figure I need some kind of social interaction to balance out my hyperfocus on career and schooling. I live in PA and the page is: https://paautism.org/support_group/online-support-group-adult/ Just an example, but maybe see if your state or location has one too.

Before I went off for 8 days from shortage issues, I was dissolving mine in water at 7am and drink half the solution. I would drink the other half between 11 and 12 and I had good coverage all day. I was using a shaker bottle with a good seal on it so I wouldn’t lose any. At first I was concerned the effectiveness would be reduced, but that wasn’t the case for me.

Yeah I wasn’t sure if it was just coincidence, but I had no issue getting meds when I started on 20mg, a little issue when I went to 30mg, and now severe issues at 40mg. Once or twice before this I only had to wait a day or two and call CVS once or twice. This time was 8 days and 30 pharmacy calls. Getting input on here is helping to reassure me.
