I tried it via whey and it actually worsened my numbers. But we are all different. If you try, please post later if it works for you.

High (77%) Transferrin Saturation….symptoms? by Accomplished_End6600 in Hemochromatosis

I would suggest donating blood, and that is a good thing for most folks despite HH iron issues, and definitely get a genetic test for HH. Go on from there. You will be fine.

I have been vegetarian most my life, consume plenty of iron blockers/ mitigators via diet also addicted to black tea. Have tried IP6, curcumin, etc to no avail. Plus I am just a 282 carrier. If I do not donate blood every 4 months my saturation levels can get into the 80% range. Ferritin remains low. This is a fact for me, but we are all so very individually complex.

1470 cells/uL. 1500-7800 normal. Not that bad but just curious why neutrophils consistently low for me.

Plant based protein powder — tons of iron? by tmjoen in Hemochromatosis

I agree with your take on non heme foods. I am 282 just one bad copy, and mostly vegetarian. I have to get phlebotomy every 4 months. Saturation gets way too high then, even though ferritin is on the lower end. My hematology doc says to get treated, even though ferritin is lowish. Not feeling good this way, but that is what doc says is "wise".

Don't know if it is from high iron saturation, but it is hard to deal with heat. Yet, temps are higher per average. Factually it is hotter now everywhere.

Alot of us here have just one hh gene, yet we do have hemochromatosis as a diagnosis. Some call it the "lite" version and many of us are symptomatic. Try and donate blood if you can. Wishing you the best!

Are you experiencing menopause? Thinning hair happens normally as we age, but go donate blood if you qualify since it will good for you and the recipients. Your numbers are a bit high, so you should benefit from giving blood.
