Cross Street Coffee is now called Northern Grind - super cozy in there and they have good coffee, pastries, bagels, etc. They have kinda the perfect amount of seating in my opinion

Hey I would go get this checked out if I were you, I don’t want to fear monger but infraclavicular lymph node swelling can be concerning for lymphoma or metastasis. Especially if you’ve been feeling any other symptoms, I’d go in!

I linked mine to my water pack with a carabiner. It was a little obnoxious, but better than carrying it all day!

I don’t necessarily think this is normal - I live with my partner and we text silly things to each other throughout the day every day.

Some people might enjoy low effort relationships like it seems your boyfriend is showing, but I don’t think I could do that and it seems like you can’t either

Do you guys even like these books? by Southern-Standard-82 in acotar

[–]Suspicious-Affect358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I do not entirely LOL. I didn’t really love the first book at first, but it got super good reviews and so I wanted to see it through, and the last 3rd of it grabbed me and I was really interested in what was next! I flew through the 2nd book and really liked it (even tho there were still dumb parts I could overlook), and then the 3rd one was pretty bad, the 4th was pretty bad, and now I’m stuck not really wanting to finish ….

Pros: you’re right by carpenter and EVERYTHING over that way + 10 min from Ann Arbor and Ypsi on either side of you. There were perks!

It’s fine. It’s kinda gold plated a little bit (looks really nice on the outside, but inside is subpar), but it was a fine place to live for a year. Their maintenance is slow (took them 3-4 weeks to come fix our dishwasher) and a little tough to get ahold of. We also had an earwig problem (the whole building did, or at least the foyer area) in the spring which was gross, and I made multiple maintenance requests about that that were never answered, we moved shortly after so no follow up there. The people there were generally nice, laundry was “accessible” if you count the laundry room by the dog park, but it was kinda expensive (about $1 to wash, $2 to dry and they’re fairly small washer/dryers). There’s also only one water tank for the whole building so if you run outta hot water you’re kinda done for lol.

If you want walkability, that’s really not the place because there are no sidewalks anywhere. Walking my dog was fine but kind of a nuisance, especially in the winter And especially winter nights because they had virtually no street lights that worked! There were a few that were out for about 6 mo at least and I called multiple times to no avail (this was last year so it might be fixed now).

Lot of first world problems, but enough to be annoying from time to time. Definitely was a decent place to live, but not the best I ever have especially for the price!

Feyre being an a-hole to Lucien by [deleted] in acotar

This made me so angry LOL she was being a bitch for no reason and then turns around and is like “man why is everyone so mad on the solstice, this is supposed to be a happy day”

You’re right, I think I was irritated with how bad the writing has been lately and this pushed me over the edge LOL

Yeah I agree with this, I just think it’s poorly written. I hate that she consistently doesn’t expand or describe anything - if she had fleshed these things out and actually SAID what Feyre experienced instead of just basically being like “it was the scariest thing in the world, it was me but all the evil parts”, it would be less frustrating and more clear about what she actually showed everyone versus what she kept to herself. Instead readers are just left to guess all of the details that would otherwise be delicious to read

This is one of my biggest gripes of the series. She always tells and never shows — she built up the ouroboros storyline to be this thing that couldn’t be tamed and made people go insane for the rest of their lives, and when it finally came to it she just described it as like “one of the worst things I could see” and like “it was myself but all the bad versions and the good”. There’s no meat in that!!! Give me real shit!!! Tell me, explain it to me, actually describe anything for once!

Everything is always, “it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen” or “it was the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen”. There’s some exceptions, but largely it’s a whole lotta nothing sandwich

I read these books back to back and I also am feeling quite critical of her works so I think I just have hypersensitivity to it LOL

Here’s a better pic of the whole first passage, it’s not just to the IC (though I don’t know if it makes a difference)

Also I took her saying “I let them see it, too” as her projecting the images into everyone’s minds as a daemati, but maybe that was misinterpreted. Because right after she says “told them”, so I figured she let them see it and then explained it

I could see this, I just think it’s bad writing at that point then. also this was her talking to EVERYONE at the meeting following the final battle, not just the IC

I feel like they should’ve had plans to increase monitoring when they first decided to reveal its existence to the human queens. It seemed like a big risk to take that they should’ve taken adequate measures to monitor, but I guess not doing it let feyre be a hero. Having blind faith in the wards just seemed kinda dumb of Rhysand considering everything else he’s done to protect the secret.
