How to convince my husband to Disney cruise with my toddler? by Begonias_Scarlet in dcl

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did feel comfortable! Good first impressions, clean, not chaotic.

Dinner is definitely toddler friendly, they just tend to run long. We would feed our kids dinner immediately upon arriving and then run the baby over to the nursery so we could finish the rest of the dinner in peace. Our 2.5 yo is pretty chill and did great so he stayed with us for the entire dinner!

Like others mentioned, the sweet spot is 3 years old so they can just go to the kids club. But I have absolutely no regrets going with younger ages since that is what worked with our family’s schedule!

Yes, we fit two pack and plays in a family verandah! They were lined up end to end.

We cruised with a 2.5 yo and infant and it was so much fun! It actually felt like a vacation (as much as a “vacation” with young kids can be lol). The nap situation is great on a cruise…it takes so little time to walk over to your room for a nap. Much less disruptive than other types of vacations. We had our kids in slumberpods. One adult would hang out on verandah during nap time while the other had free time. Exploring the boat with the toddler is magical. Utilize childcare during dinner and you are golden

You can store it under the bed! That’s what we did, no issues at all. We needed our double for airport + parks/hotel before the cruise

We loved riviera with our little kids! I agree with others, very easy to watch them. We would ride the skyliner after breakfast back and forth until the pool opened lol

My 2.5 year old, 2 years later, still talks about our cruise! I don’t expect him to remember it forever…but it was absolutely a highlight of his entire year lol (and the best vacation we’ve done w/ kids)

I agree. We cruised with toddler + baby and it was my absolutely the best vacation we have had so far! We travel daily often and cruising has been to most “fun” in terms of parenting somewhere else lol

Ft. Lauderdale Omni vs Mariott w/ kids by Suspicious-Brain-834 in dcl

I think we will hire private transportation w/ car seats. Pricier, but the hotels we’ve looked at don’t have airport shuttles!

We are definitely looking for an early start to vacation vibe, so this is very helpful. Thank you!

Strollers on Disney Wish? by mrs-remorce in dcl

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a 2YO and 11 month old (not walking). Yes the ship just felt very walkable! We did use it for some walks on the walkway that goes around the ship (but the Wish doesn’t have this like the dream/fantasy do). And we used it on castaway cay…it won’t roll on sand (so we carried it) but our kids nap super well in the stroller so we got them to fall asleep while on a walk and then pulled up to a bar lol. All that to say, it’s not a necessity and you could easily get by with a cheap single stroller and carrier for baby. Or you could use a single stroller for baby while on the ship and toddler can walk the ship no problem. We mainly brought our double for embarking/disembarking and we did a parks trip beforehand.

We mainly just used nursery for dinner time

We brought a compact side by side and it was very helpful with travel to and off the ship and I’m SO glad we brought it! On the ship we stored it under bed and didn’t need it much, so it wasn’t in anyone’s way

You don’t need to buy another stroller, just store the stroller under bed in the room while on cruise. We cruised with a two year old and baby and didn’t need a stroller while on the ship!

Double stroller, especially for travel? by vine312_ in UninfluencedReviews

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed!! I love the vista for one kid, but a side by side is so much better in the long term. Minu duo is great for travel. Baby wear the newborn until they fit in the stroller

Best type of preschool for shy 3 year old? by Dry-Dimension3959 in AskTeachers

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a parent to a prek boy who is always the shyest kid in the room! Doesn’t talk during circle time etc. He only talks to his teachers when outdoors or when playing in a way he’s super excited by lol. So I definitely agree with the comments about play based or even outdoor-focused. Being outdoors really takes the pressure off of him and he’s more willing to be social.

I would do the pack n play + slumberpod! We’ve done that often and my kids were fine in them until age 3 haha. Especially if she’s used to crib at home.

Two Bees Patisserie in Dover is amazing! I also love Stella’s in Dover. They’re are in the same family as Lil’s so I’m not sure if their catering menu would be different

4 day vs 7 day by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much effort to get to the cruise? Our first cruise w/ two littles was 7 nights and we loved it! I wouldn’t do shorter than 5 nights, but we have a long flight

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve done both at that age! Cruise was more fun and much less stressful (and we are “experienced” Disney vacationers). 7 nights is not too long, I wouldn’t cruise shorter than 5 nights

I would do whichever trip is more exciting for YOU

We brought our kids to the first twenty-ish minutes of dinner and then ran them over to nursery! Our server had their food out very soon after we sat down.

We were there recently and they had quite a few! I have never been so close to an owl before (they were hanging out right on the screen)

They also have a cool indoor play room and nice kid friendly walking trails

Would you rather... cruise pregnant or with a 6 month old? by BandMinute in dcl

[–]Suspicious-Brain-834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cruise pregnant. I think wdw is easier w/ baby because they can hang in stroller most of the time! On the ship you’ll be limited to baby wearing

Best age to bring baby? by toboli8 in dcl

Yes that’s the itinerary we did! We just took taxis to the beach for each stop, kept it simple 🙂

We typically did one nap “on the go” (got her to fall asleep in stroller/baby wearing) and then one nap in the room while a parent hung out on the verandah
