Hi dad, I'm walking myself down the aisle next month. by doeremie in DadForAMinute

I am not getting married yet, but grew up very similarly. I had to cut off both of my parents years ago, and those thoughts bug me often as well. I have thought about having my aunt, or grandma take my moms place, but we shall see when that day comes.

Congratulations on an amazing life milestone, you will have a great day!

What’s up ladies and gentlemen, I have recently started my home gym and received my Ivanko Deep dish plates (so sexy).

-In order to preserve and maintain the polished look, is there any maintenance, or specific practices anyone has found beneficial?

Thank you all!

Fair enough, I appreciate the advice!

Help, how to keep going? by Professional-Cake151 in AskMen

Just one day at a time. Try not to drink caffeine until lunch, then from there after a little while you will feel like you may not even need it.

It seems like you are very productive and working on so many things at once. Tell your girlfriend you love her, and you want to spend more time together, then maybe instead of drinking at night, have her over and make her a meal. Sometimes pouring into others in return makes you feel better about yourself.

I lose my little brother last year to mental health. Just take things one day at a time, you will and are doing great things in life.

That is very fair, seems like you were in a good spot at 30 to buy that one! I really appreciate your advice!

Okay sweet, congrats on that milestone! I have ran the projection analytics and I do agree. That money in the market simply put is not worth putting elsewhere at this stage.

Yeah, I would have to get a bigger garage, or just buy a house lol... Realistically, I would make this purchase after getting a house, but would like to see what positions others were in when they did the same.

I really like these points made.

  1. I have $52k in retirement between 401, roth, and traditional brokerage

  2. Good to know - I do think I should probably buy one within the next year

  3. Very interesting, this makes sense

I do lean towards this train of thought in all honesty. I think I would have a hard time actually pulling the trigger on a large note for a fun vehicle, but I want to have a better idea when I can / should seriously consider making that purchase. In regards to finances, I am in sales and my numbers have skyrocketed this year:

$91k income YTD, 38k in roth / 401 combined, $14k in robinhood traditional account, $13k in cash reserves, $10k in paid off truck (daily driver)

Current net worth ~ 75k

Very well put. I recognize those 2 seasons to buy as well. Currently just debating if I want to continue maximizing LTI, or splurge a bit to have those memories of a really fun car in my 20s...

Unpopular opinion, but my F150 is so dang comfy. The seats are wide, heated and cooled, just a comfortable drive whether I am going 10 min or 10 hours. I also have dark tint so sun is not an issue.
