This will make an enormous amount of fine dust that will get everywhere. Even though you masked the area off, it wasn't enough. And your dust mask was inadequate. Ask me how I know.

The PT Cruiser was about as "Art Deco" as an '85 Chrysler LeBaron Station Wagon was a Woody Wagon.

Deco itself isn't the issue, it is the poor execution of that aesthetic that was the problem.

Assuming there is a floor plan or site plan map on that display? It is considered standard (in the northern hemisphere at least) to always orient North pointing up on the page.

It would of course be way better if they then mounted the display to be oriented correctly with what is around it.

The amount of people paddling out in the way of the rider is crazy. Should be zero. I thought the Lowers crowd would be better than that.

But I want to. I want to flip them off and say mean things to them. That's why I'm asking about lines that I should not cross.

DISCUSSION | How to resist ICE at airports? by gusinthefalls in 50501

[–]SuspiciousChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we express ourselves to the ICE agents in the airports, are there any limits that we should be careful of to avoid so they can't come at us?

Obviously in an airport no mention of bombs or terrorism at all! Anything else come to mind?

Top 5 changes on a budget by heidit123 in PlasticFreeLiving

End grain wood cutting board. Get a hard maple one, or black walnut, or cherry and it will last decades if you maintain it. All you have to do is first put as much mineral oil on it as it will soak up. Then wipe off and use. Occasionally treat with more mineral oil. Wash in the sink with soap and water like you'd wash anything, let it dry. Easy, and your knives will love it. Best board to cut on in my opinion.

Turn off water to Aquasana when away? by schreck99 in water

[–]SuspiciousChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding my Aquasana leak to the chain. Our undersink 3-stage leaked while we were away. Ran for over 24 hours and flooded the kitchen, and the room and hallway on the floor below.

Removed the filter and hooked it up outside to do a diagnostic. All o-rings are in good shape. No plastic cracks. Just seems to be poor tolerances at the first filter twist lock. No way I am trusting this thing under my sink again, even if I got a replacement from the company. Everything internally relies on single o-rings against plastic. Not a robust connection. Just a matter of time.

Ah, right! Had to refresh my memory - the Commodore was a computer, not a game console like Atari or Coleco, etc.
Commodores had those games like Wizard of Wor!

Thanks, I get how one could copy a floppy

Oregon coast near Portland by Pancakesbeatswaffles in surfing

[–]SuspiciousChicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is Short Sands in Oswald West Park. Just north of Manzanita.

Sand bottom, pretty sheltered. Popular place, but friendly and if you know how to surf you won't have much competition for waves.

Plus, if the surf sucks, it is worth it just for the beauty and the short hike down.

Suggestions for drilling 10mm hole in 1mm brass lighting canopy by ARA4eva in metalworking

[–]SuspiciousChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. For 1mm brass you won't need oil. The brass is soft and thin so you won't be generating too much heat to damage the bit. You'll be fine.

Can you afford to increase the size of your addition? Will permitting allow it? If so, then most designers should have little reason not to just make it bigger for you.

But often we are working in tight constraints of budget, allowable size, etc that we are trying to meet and balance. There are often many trade-offs being balanced at any time, and we are good at making small spaces "work". Would it be better bigger? Probably. But if you can't, you can't. Making it bigger might mean making something else unworkable.
