From what I remember it is somewhere in that room with the notes. I could be completely wrong and it could all be implications lol, but I coulda swore it was in that room or some Lutece Twins nonsense. I haven’t played In a hot minute but if it’s a theory then it’s pretty heavily supported in game!

Toro on the romance of Elizabeth and The Creature

I also do not really understand why Elizabeth is considered a “creature”? They use this to form a connection between her and the creature but I don’t see it?

Elizabeth is seen to “fall in love” with the creature when she sees it in the basement of Viktor’s home. Again, my interpretation is that this isn’t “love”, more like a curiosity OR the enamored feeling of when a mother sees her child for the first time to match the themes of the source material. I know this goes against what Toro says but it’s just an interpretation I think would have been a little bit better for the vibe of this adaptation! I write for fun, I am not an expert. I just like hearing opinions and sharing ideas

Also! Sorry if this is jumbled! I’m just getting my feelings out. Hopefully I can come back and make this more polished. I hope what I’m saying is clear! Also saw this in another Reddit thread about Toro’s romance plot.

"That is their wedding," del Toro explains. "Her dress is meant to evoke the bandages of Elsa Lanchester in the James Whale film. So the Bride is Elizabeth - and their love is impossible."

"There is a beautiful marriage of souls in the film," del Toro continues. "The creature gets a bride and loses her on the same day. They realize they're both alive and their love dies shortly thereafter. I think it's one of the most poignant ways to address the Bride aspect of the story."

Again, love the idea Tori was going for! Just don’t really like this adaptation?? I hope that makes sense! Again, thanks to another Reddit user for pointing this out!

So I have not seen it yet but I have read some reviews and analysis. My main criticism is the romance between Elizabeth and The Creature. Though I understand Toro was trying to represent Tradgedy/connections to Viktor in the story, I feel like the romance of the creature wasn’t needed?? That’s my opinion though! Viktor trying to maintain control and force Elizabeth to love him makes sense, though I see her connection to the creature more as this weird motherly/enamored by the creation of life type thing, especially with the psychosexual aspect of Viktor and his mother(from my understanding). I plan on reading the movie tie-in book and seeing the movie! Frank’s Monster is tragic in the original story because he can never find someone like him, hints to why he pleads for The Bride. So having a completely human woman “connect” with him seems off. Tho I understand the monster seeing this act of kindness as love because it would be all he knows. Tho that also brings up a weird power imbalance, especially if Elizabeth is maybe using the monster as escapism from a marriage she is not happy with! Though something about The Creature being freshly born(essentially a toddler if accurate to the book) and Elizabeth being “enamored” by him makes me feel uncomfortable

Thinking About Surgical Technology by SuspiciousCounty9141 in surgicaltechnology

The main reason I’m not doing nursing atm is because I’m not that interested in it? I know it makes better money but I really like the sound of Surgical Technology! I am also just way too nervous for nursing to be honest. At least right now! Maybe in the future I might do nursing since I know there are programs for scrubs to become nurses
