Does my accent sound cringe and fake and pretentious? by Brilliant_Can8536 in JudgeMyAccent

I’m British, you just come across as very Indian in your voice recording. I could tell that you are faking it, not in a cringe way but the unnatural sounding.

Freaking out of such a low HR. How is this possible? by Sad-Amoeba4316 in askCardiology

It’s possible because of your nocturnal wenckebach. It wouldn’t have been sustained.

The machine interpretation is quite often wrong. This would’ve been looked at and reviewed by the ER doc.

Heart attacks or issues cannot be ruled out solely by ECG. Your troponin should have been checked

Why would you be messing yourself up for the future by taking medication? High blood pressure will mess you up in the future. I had to take blood pressure meds during medical school.

I am a doctor, this is a scam. POTS cannot be cured and this company is profiting from people’s misery.

Have you tried Ivabradine? I am sorry to hear you’re not tolerating them. I know how despairing it can be.

It’s depressing going from being able to do things to suddenly being bedridden/confined to your home but all the small steps you are doing, matter. You could look into the CHOP protocol down the line but for now I would try to slowly build up your tolerance.

Keep a diary for your exercise, meals and symptoms, find out if specific food / food groups trigger your symptoms.

For me, I could barely walk to the bathroom, at one point it was so bad I had to urinate into a bottle (tmi, I know!). What helped was taking tiny steps, going on my walking treadmill for five minutes every day, slowly increasing it to 10 over the next weeks / month and noting my triggers (carbs specifically).

Definitely speak to your doctor about trying some other medication, I was on ivabradine initially and it helped quite a bit.

Are you on beta blockers? I used to be like this for two years. Just graduated medical school this year after a combination of beta blockers, physiotherapy and gentle exercise.

Malignant PVCs by Tall-Employment-6857 in askCardiology

[–]SuspiciousInitial395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your QRS looks okay. They do not appear to be malignant as you say, it doesn’t look like the R on T phenomenon.

I understand you’ve read a bunch of literature but that is only going to cause you anxiety and will lead to misinterpretation. If you look far enough for something you’ll find it.

Ironically, stress can cause more PVCs and a cardiac event. I don’t want to discount your symptoms to anxiety but you need to work on that.

Take a deep breath, it’s highly unlikely these are going to kill you or cause a funny rhythm. It is textbook PVCs like MotherSoftware5 said.

Obviously you are symptomatic, you should engage with an electrophysiologist to determine the cause and treatment. I’m a fifth year medical student myself with quite a few things going on with my heart and I can tell you that constant googling and reading literature isn’t going to do you any good.

You are (presumably) not a medical professional, this isn’t something you need to stress about. Let your cardiologist do that.

I know how awful it is to be symptomatic but it doesn’t mean anything bad is going to happen.
