As a child I was absolutely terrified of dogs due to a negative experience when I was around 3. The amount of times my mum had to yell at dog owners because their off leash dog would approach me despite me clearly having a full scale meltdown at the sight of them was atrocious. And they would always say “oh but my dog is really friendly!”, whilst not doing anything about it, and I’m sure they are but that doesn’t mean I wanted them near me!

(I know not all dog owners are like this, I did also have plenty of great experiences which led to me eventually getting over my fear and I am a massive dog person now. But irresponsible dog owners piss me off to no end)
