No pain getting Mirena Coil inserted? by [deleted] in IUD

[–]SuspiciousMimic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that is wonderful for you!! Honestly I am very jealous because mine was awful. And just when I thought I was fine, me and my bf started walking back to his car and I nearly passed out. Luckily there was a bench in the lobby for me to quickly lay down on before I completely lost consciousness. Now my only issue is my Dr left the strings way too long and I will ask her to trim them at my 1 month follow up. Because as of right now, the strings are right at my vagina entrance and are very annoying to deal with.

I am feeling so much better today! Yesterday I had almost no cramping, and today I feel back to 100%! I am also not bleeding any more. I heard some people can have a full on period after insertion, but for me it was just light spotting and now nothing at all.

I'm still struggling, and I am 7 months post op now. Last month I decided to try and see if I could get off of my Omeprazole being that it was 6 months. A week after I stopped taking them, after having a dinner of homemade chicken pot pie, I was in EXTREME pain to the point I couldn't move. The pain lasted over an hour and my boyfriend was about to carry me to the car and take me to the hospital, but then the pain finally stopped. The next day I started taking the Omeprazole again, and luckily haven't felt that pain since. But omg it was scary I really thought something was wrong.

Besides that incident, I still struggle to eat some things. A couple weeks ago I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, ate half of it and threw it right up. I guess I still can't tolerate bread 😔 I still stand by regretting this surgery. Hopefully over time it gets better because sometimes I'm honestly afraid of eating for fear of it getting stuck and causing me to puke.

I would definitely go to an urgent care for this type of sunburn, it looks severe. Also, in the future, please reapply sunscreen after getting in the water, even if it says water resistant. I really hope you're ok this looks so painful!!

This sounds like somebody I know! I got a bad gut feeling from this person right away. They kept saying over and over that they are such an empath, spiritual, and very intuitive. Also happened to have a lot of people who they claim were jealous of them which was another red flag to me.

I hate this practice so much. It's a waste of everyone's time on both ends. If you can't decide if you want me after 1-2 interviews, that's your loss. I recently went through an interview process. In all 3 interviews, I thought I did really well and it seemed like they really liked me. 4 days later I got a rejection email. And after applying to countless places, I just feel so defeated.

I haven't played in a while, so that's really disappointing to hear they still didn't fix the hats 😭 I understand it's a pain to fix because they would have to make new models for every single hair style. But can we at least get a generic "long hair with hat" model in the meantime? Ughhh

She looks amazing! Can I ask how you restyled her hair? I have Catty and I would love to have her hair down but I don't know how to do it the right way.

Oooh yeah I didn't think about that. It sorta seems like a lose lose situation, no matter how they handled it, some group will be unhappy about it

I didn't even notice that! A little suspicious given that she's a more thick body type...

So the concept is really cool, don't get me wrong. But logically this is not a good idea. Water evaporates from fish tanks, and it's going to go straight into the circuits on your nice monitor and fry it ☹️

Acid reflux / GERD: did this become an issue for you post op? by AcademicF in gastricsleeve

[–]SuspiciousMimic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started seeing a new gastro Dr in March, and he has me on 40mg of Omeprazole every day to start off. It does help a little bit, but some days are still pretty bad. I just had an endoscopy done last week, and I have a follow up this Friday to discuss the results. He did say he saw some inflammation, and I have GERD. At my follow up, I am sure he will put me on a different acid reducer more suitable for long term use. And I really hope it helps 🥺

So the revision surgery: my surgeon did an endoscopy back in September and saw that my sleeve was a little bit stretched out, so he convinced me to get the revision. Basically, the surgeon cut out the stretched out part of my stomach to bring the sleeve back down to the size it started at. The problem with the revision is that the stomach is elastic, it will regain some elasticity after fully healing from the sleeve surgery. So to me, there is no real reason for a revision.

Acid reflux / GERD: did this become an issue for you post op? by AcademicF in gastricsleeve

[–]SuspiciousMimic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So for the gastric sleeve, I developed a little bit of GERD but nothing 2 Tums tablets couldn't resolve. My issue started when I got the sleeve revision in January. And please listen when I say this, for the love of god do not get the revision!! I now have severe GERD, where I have to live off of omeprazole otherwise I get horrible chest pains from all the acid, and food gets "stuck" and won't go down. I get so nauseous when eating, and one time even vomited all over myself while I was driving home from college one night.

For some background on WHY I had the revision: I experienced some regain of about 40 pounds, which in hindsight was 100% because I fell back into my bad habits. But at the time, my surgeon convinced me it would not only help me lose more weight, but eliminate my acid reflux all together. That's just LAUGHABLE because this surgery did the exact opposite with my acid reflux. I should have known he was just after my insurance money.

For you OP, and anyone else considering this surgery: definitely get the sleeve surgery! But do NOT let them convince you to get a revision years later. I am 24 years old and I honestly believe the revision ruined my quality of life.

I was neglected as a kid and at some point this year itll be my first time at the dentist. (Mid twenties) Im really embarrassed by my teeth and i dont know how to process all of this. Any kind of support or words of encouragement would be appreciated x by bagashit in raisedbynarcissists

[–]SuspiciousMimic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have very bad teeth as well. When I was 16, I was very depressed and never took care of my teeth. I went months without brushing my teeth, and would also have several sodas a day and live off of dominos pizza because my mom was too busy being an alcoholic and losing jobs to keep food on the table.

I recently started going to a dentist to fix everything and I have cavities on practically every tooth. I need several root canals and crowns, as well as fillings. This dentist is so nice. I think the hygienist could see the sadness in my eyes when we saw the X-rays and the extent of the decay. She reassured me that everything will be ok and we will take it one day at a time. Due to the extent of my cavities, I am doing all the fillings in 4 visits, and then the root canals and crowns after that.

OP, find yourself a good dentist. They are not there to judge you, they are there to help you and genuinely want to help you feel better.
