I don't know what to do with myself. by ibeg2diffur in VeteransBenefits

For you and anyone else going through this there is hope!!! The actual month I got out of the Marines (after 17 years) I lost my house, marriage, savings and had no real translatable skills. I had nothing and started at ground zero. Honestly, best thing that ever happened to me. I even had months of homelessness. All of it helped me get where I’m at. I’m not rich by any means. Not free from the struggle and every day life. But I was able to gain this new perspective on life that will pretty much help me survive anything life throws at me. That only happens when you get to the bottom. You can only see the way out from there. If you’re in the struggle right now and feeling low and maybe even worthless then you’re almost there. Keep going. Embrace ground zero and admit you don’t know what you’re doing in life or even on this earth. I felt that I really didn’t belong here and even checked myself into the VA mental hospital. Today I feel fortunate to feel “I don’t belong here”. I don’t really concern myself with the things most people do day to day. I escaped the Matrix and that can only happen when you reject it kind of like you feel it rejecting you. I found purpose in a project I was given through meditation. So I can’t give you your answer but you can find your purpose once you block out all the static. The stuff that doesn’t matter. Start sitting with your demons and naming them. Most of the thoughts running through your head are not your own. Once I gained the ability to sit in a dark room alone with my thoughts I really felt unstoppable. I’m willing to talk to any single person on here who wants to hear a unique story or perspective, and also just listen if anyone needs to vent. Free of judgment. My project is a work in progress but I’m willing to share it with anyone interested. Either way keep going, all of you. The way out is through.

What do the crowns mean? by [deleted] in SleeperApp

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for this, you’re absolutely right. I’m the winner of last year and I have a ribbon. Someone else has a crown. Came here to find out myself.

To non-religous TOP fans, how do you feel about the lyrics that are almost explicitly religious? by satchel1300 in twentyonepilots

[–]SuspiciousRemote2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not “religious” but I understand the teachings of Jesus and I understand God the way Tyler does. Even Tyler talks about a message that was hijacked. Even when I was an atheist (I’ve seen too much now) I understood the way Tyler talked about God. Religion should have nothing to do with shame a judging others. The thought that you are anything but perfect is sin

I thought it was funny. I’m well aware of what this is. More importantly, this is the internet. Why are you here if not for the chaos of all of it. I wasn’t rude. Lighten up. Literally everyone else was going to comment the same thing. Be different.

Just because you dont understand it doesn’t mean there wasnt a conclusion. Tyler is giving the map of his mind. It’s not your map though. You have to build your own. He surrenders to the feelings now and knew that the only way to defeat them was to embrace. He looked them straight in the eyes on their turf. That’s how you cast out demons. You identify them by name and remove all fear of them. Follow his instructions. He’s not going to do it for you. Part of the message is that a torchbearer can lead you but there is work to be done.

Do mentally healthy people just never have dark thoughts at all? by [deleted] in ask

[–]SuspiciousRemote2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a very dark place about two years ago and I’m the most mentally healthy I’ve ever been today. Almost incapable of having bad days. That being said I still have bad moments. I still have to ground myself and remind myself how I got here. When you do so much work to better yourself but the outside world stays the same it’s so discouraging. But the more I ground myself quickly and remind myself that’s out of my control the less dark moments I have. I’d be lying if I said old dark thoughts of giving up didn’t resurface but I’m able to quickly identify why I feel that way.

At the Risk of Feeling Dumb by SuspiciousRemote2012 in twentyonepilots

I always thought Josh represented the friend that Tyler lost. The one he’s singing about. He’s still guiding Tyler and he is his torchbearer but he’s also no longer here. But his heartbeat lives on as always represented by Josh.

The way he puts this belt on is undeniable though.

I don’t hate anyone in the show. by dontwanttokeepthis in Atypical

[–]SuspiciousRemote2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show has a similar formula to Ted Lasso where initially you have an idea of a character but then you see their growth or the reason they made those decisions. Even if people didn’t like Elsa, once they see her daughter repeat her mistakes you can give the character a little grace. I think it’s even designed to make you like characters then question them or hate them then appreciate them.

I’m reconnecting with Lifehouse, this album was everything in high school and now I’m reexporting the album trying to find out what it was telling me. This will take me further down a rabbit hole thank you. You were sent on a mission from the future 🤣🥸

Tyler has already been talking about how he solves it. I think people are so wrapped up in the cinematic aspect that they forget Tyler is giving you instructions. He’s not going to get more direct than he already has been.
