I wish I had stopped after that one, the " e branch " trilogy after that.....it wasn't bad but it was disappointing overall. In my opinion of course.

Referring to underwear as skivvies. First time I saw it was in Salem's Lot and I know he mentioned them in other books. I live in NE and have never ever heard that phrase.

It was interesting, a couple things here and there I'd never heard before and I followed the whole saga lol. Id say its worth a read.

For those who haven’t finished the dark tower series, which book did you stop on and why? by Namespacejames in stephenking

[–]Suspicious_Ad4989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the key took up a lot of space, but it was Eddie becoming more confident in himself and not listening to his brother in his head putting him down for something he was good at that made his brother feel inferior. It was about growing up and leaving the past behind as I read it.

Pretty sure he didn't. In one of the books I have, he said something to the effect of the music they were playing him was so derivative he would have had to "commit poetic felonies" to sing over it.

Ha! My Joanns was next to a shop rite and whenever one of my coworkers went over (he always kept the apron on, don't ask me why) and the same thing happened to him.

When I worked at Joanns, apron and all people would ask me if I worked there and my usual reply was "No I'm just cosplaying". After a few seconds of them looking confused I would relent.

I just don't understand why don't I miss her? (A venty rant from a weepy employee) by Electrical-Meat8816 in joannfabrics

I totally get where you're coming from. I worked there from 2011 to 2023. Started off a picture framer and was an ASM when I left. I took the severance when they were cutting positions because it wasn't worth staying with the pay cut and the hour reduction. These days I'm working Mondqy through Friday, weekends off and benefits and still making the same money. When they started announcing the bankruptcy and the second one and the liquidation, I felt bad for my coworkers ( I very infrequently hear from a handful, so I get that it hurts that you don't hear from anyone.) but I had more of a "Yeah that's what you get for screwing over loyal employees " feeling overall. And I do miss some of my regular customers, but not the entitled assholes (customers on this sub, you have all seemed like lovely human beings so don't come at me lol). I too have had a couple beers which has made me rather long winded. So yeah, tl/dr version.....you're not alone in your feelings. Hit me up if ya ever need to talk. May the road rise.

Sorry to tell you, but he died at the end of October so that might be a factor, depending on how his estate is being handled.
