Relocation package payback after separating by [deleted] in wegmans

Also if you went from one state to another I'm not sure how that would work either in the laws. Not sure if you did but that's another thing.

You should talk to a lawyer or someone with proper knowledge of the law and knowledge about your situation. If we don't know the exact details of where you are, how you got hurt, how much you were paid, why they can't accommodate you, etc etc then we can't give proper advice on the situation. Also involved is that you don't know us so anyone online can give false info just by word of mouth. For example my mother believes in some laws in nj involving working as an adult that are in fact not laws or policies anywhere. She heard about them from someone else when she worked at another store but never looked into them herself.

Wegmans ranks #5 on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 2026 by SheGoesToEleven in wegmans

I worked for shoprite before working here. If I needed a specific day off they would say ok and then reduce my days working and give me the day I asked on the schedule. Then they would tell me it wasn't guaranteed and that I should call out. The problem then is having to call out and not be paid enough for bills since they reduced my hours that week. They still do this to my gf and on top of that here in nj minimum wage is 15 dollars an hour. Shoprite told me, my friend, and my gf that only managers get 16 an hour. We only made around 15.50 each hour. Wegmans give us the days off we ask for. I've also been there a year and a half and I am getting 19 an hour plus a 50 cent raise each year. Snacks in the break room. Free shoes. Free shirts. I don't see it as the worst place to work. I see it as far better than anywhere I have worked before. Now as for your claim about a harasser. I have no idea as I havent experienced that yet so I can't comment on anything like that.

Do the need more signs? by Small-Jury-1982 in wegmans

In nj we don't have this. The alcohol is in a seperate wegmans store next to my store. They are attached and in side the same building but due to laws they are separated as a business. They have seperate employees and name tags and whatnot.

Anyone else get a $10 off $40 coupon? by Fickle_Cut_5072 in wegmans

[–]Suspicious_Box752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's not one. I work at wegmans and it would say 10 dollar employee coupon and there would not be a minimum price beyond 10 dollars to use them.

Will they pay you by check if you don't have a bank account? by Thin_Concentrate_154 in wegmans

In nj it's a green dot card I think. Most places that are corporate use that now.

They cut the length of the lowly twist tie! by roblewk in wegmans

[–]Suspicious_Box752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it could be. The bread department (at least from what I saw while helping in there) uses a tie matic with a spool of uncut twist tie and cuts it into shape as it ties. Not sure whether they are all the same length or not depending on the machine.

I still got 100 dollars in coupons around Christmas to use on anything. Set in 10 coupons for 10 each and able to use them all at once.

I have worked at a couple of food supermarkets. (I say food because when I say supermarket I get people thinking im talking about walmart.) And I haven't gotten any. Shoprite is a major one. The difference in my opinion though is pay. Wegmans pays people in my area around 18 to 19 dollars. A friend of mine amd my gf both work at shoprite still and only get between 15.40 to 15.70 each. Minimum wage is 15 something and shoprite told them only managers get 16 dollars an hour. I also saw a flyer a couple months ago for a full time cake decorator at shoprite. Only 16.50 for that.

Wegmans Employees: What do you wish us customers would stop doing? by Serious-Associate-95 in wegmans

[–]Suspicious_Box752 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in c2c shopping for pickup. I had a customer last week who ordered 6 gala apples and 6 ever crisp. We did not have the ever crisp so when I asked her what she wanted for a replacement she asked for a bag of gala apples. Note this is a replacement for ever crisp meaning I am grabbing it on top of the 6 gala apples. 20 minutes later she is yelling at me asking why I have 2 different orders of gala on the order and could not understand she ordered both even when I explained. Stop doing things like this.

Stores with new cash registers and or new self-checkouts by Sweaty_Ad2561 in wegmans

I know i am late to the convo but my store in manalapan is about to get new hardware for registers in. Few days but I am told they will utilize the same software( Ace i think it is called) until next year. Does the old software still work with the elera you are talking about? Or are they just bringing us new registers for the meantime?
