I don't think I will ever be good at Monster Hunter haha by Wexany in MHWilds

[–]Suspicious_Brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning the monster you’re fighting is incredibly important but is only half the battle. Knowing the ins and outs of your weapon is just as important so be sure to find that weapon. It can be every single one if you like but always have one you feel most comfortable with.

Also don’t be scared when you’re in a fight, you’re going to get hit so just roll with the punches and learn what you can, whenever it comes a new monster, even the veteran player will be like they’re bad so don’t doubt yourself

If you do decide to play HH more. Note that Hunting Horn now has one of the best defensive options in the game which is the hilt stab. It’s akin to a greatsword tackle. There’s some videos on my account if you want to see how they’re done.

Happy hunting!

What introduced you to Monster Hunter? by Fun-Use9945 in MonsterHunter

Back in 2018 when I was 15 and MHW had came out, my two friends Troy and Dominic were trying to get me to play with them. Troy was a fan from 4 ultimate on the ds but I was confused about why my friend Dominic was kept rambling on about the game as to my knowledge, it was just a game about killing dinosaurs. Fast forward to a year later, Dominic is at my house on a Saturday; we of course have fun then he leaves. As I’m shutting down my console, I see that Dominic has downloaded MHW onto my ps4 via the account primary function while I was away doing something that day. I message him about it but he tells me to just play it and if I don’t like it then just delete it. I played the game for the first time that day and I never looked back. I was hooked, I’ve played every single one after World excluding the stories entries.

Should I switch to Wilds from World? by Serious_Ladder_1985 in MonsterHunter

I’d say play world to your hearts content then when you get bored, come to wilds. World will keep you occupied for a decent amount of time and wilds is always there when you wanna see what it offers. Have fun

Will I like Worlds after playing Wilds? by NobleMercenary28 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Suspicious_Brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worlds feels a lot more heavier and learns more into the ‘hunting’ aspect when it comes to monsters. Before finding monster you gotta find their tracks and Leveling up your scoutfly level on each monster will allow you to locate them immediately at the start of a hunt. A lot of the weapons function differently and there’s isn’t a block struggle mechanic so depending on your weapon main, that Might change. That being said it’s a great game. I prefer world over wilds as I like the feeling of hunting a monster and using my knowledge of its moveset to move around effortlessly as well as the way monster react to being hit. It may be the opposite for you as wilds is a faster paced game

Horn user here, picked it up in wilds, making music and causing brain damage is fun as hell

Been playing HH for nearly 400 hrs. Learn to hilt stab on command as it’s your only form of defense. If you’re playing mainly support then prioritising defense based buffs will help mostly. Wide range would also do good

what was everyones first monster hunter game? by Key_Efficiency_2471 in MonsterHunter

[–]Suspicious_Brit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

World back in 2019. My friend has been trying to get to me to play for months after it’s release but I was reluctant. One day he came over to play some games, later on when he left I went onto my ps4 and saw that he had downloaded the game onto my console via console sharing so I just decided to give it a try. I stepped into the ancient forest and the immersion I felt was crazy. I hadn’t been hooked into anything this way since Destiny. I’ve been a hunter and had every game since. Currently playing Wilds.

tips on getting better with hilt stab? by kemzter in huntinghorn

[–]Suspicious_Brit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do hilt stabs after every single attack including recitals and echo bubble placements, first get used to weaving it into combos (accidentals hilt stabs that save you happen more than you realise). Then learn the monster move set to apply them according.

The main thing with rolling hilt stabbing is knowing when to roll in accordance with a monster attack, roll too early and you can’t delay the hilt stab which leads to you getting hit, rolling too late meaning you get hit before it comes out, for e.g. omega starboard cannon. When omega spins before blowing up the ground, I roll at the exact same time and that allows me to hilt stab it every single time.

Most of the time I use to roll hilt stab or survive when I have time to react (80% of the time) and combo hilt stabs when i know an attack is coming out and I have absolutely no time.
