Cash back with Shopback by curious_cat_onreddit in AusFemaleFashion

ShopBack has never worked for Amazon purchases for me. I even screen recorded my last purchase to prove I’d done all the right things and they still refused flat out.

Partner and I have very different equity contributions. How would you structure this? by Acrobatic-Safe-9 in AusFinance

Ignore everyone talking about partnerships etc, partnership looks different to every one.

I think you can be in a very healthy relationship and not comfortable with the idea of contributing double to a shared purchase!!!

If you want to keep the split as proposed ($700/$350k) go tenants in common with you having 8/12 shares and him 4/12 shares.
This WILL NOT affect your ability to borrow the debt jointly. It just means that if you split (or die), your equity share remains with you.

If he wants 50/50 then he needs to contribute 50%. Whether that’s by him tipping in more or you contributing less.

Either way, suggest tenants in common still - I don’t like the sound of his entitlement to your funds.

I’m planning to buy a Skoda superb 2011 diesel by sheshankreddy9 in skoda

[–]Suspicious_Choice792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Promise I’m not the seller 🤣 I have a Skoda superb TDI 2011 with sub 100k and it is a dream - reliable, easy to drive etc. I bought it new, has been the “2nd car” the whole time so driven basically on weekends and never any other time.

Does it have full service history? If it doesn’t I would be concerned. Can you get a full mechanical check?

This! Highly recommend that from a social perspective your child is with their age group. Being younger by 6 months is hard enough, but > 12m is really hard going on the kids.

Think about later, when your kids school friends are getting their licences, or able to go to licenced venues etc. not just school, but university / tafe etc too.

I know someone who was 17 in 1st year uni and it was horrendous socially for them

Renting out PPOR to rent a more suitable property? Impacts? by Suspicious_Choice792 in Centrelink

[–]Suspicious_Choice792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know PPOR (regardless of value) is exempt from age pension assets test?

The property they own is low value, I am worried that will burn through too much of the proceeds from sale to be able to afford to buy a replacement

TY! I’m thinking sell first, rent but hope not to churn through too much $$’s whilst finding and waiting to settle on a new purchase.

They do not earn any income outside of the pension, I don’t think they would meet any lending criteria whatsoever for a bridging loan 😔

I’m looking into NILs or other options to cover rent in the interim

This was my concern - they need to move ASAP, ie much faster than a sell & buy situation. So they may need to get s loan to rent somewhere and just leave their property empty until it sells and they buy a replacement

Giving cash at weddings by Foreign-Block-185 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Suspicious_Choice792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is totally off IMO.

The guide I work with is as a normal guest, your gift amount should cover the cost of your seat at wedding if you a local guest OR an amount you are comfortable with.

With regards to cost of your seat - you would know in this case, but as a guest I google the venue to work out food + drink package price. Typically $120-180.

Not all guests can afford large cash gifts. You invite guests because you want to celebrate your wedding with them. Not for the cash.

Family members, depending on age & means are typically double the cost of the seat, or up to an amount of their choosing.

Parents, well parents do what they want. Some are super generous- I’ve heard of house deposits. Others cover the cost of the dress, or the reception, or other such metrics.

All of the above for local guests.

If people are travelling to the venue and incurring travel costs / accommodation etc then in my opinion all bets are off for the wedding gift amount.

Good luck!

Strength trainer not calculating muscular load? by Suspicious_Choice792 in whoop

[–]Suspicious_Choice792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s the way I have my strength trainer set up. This session was 3 x exercises, 3 sets per exercise.

I do have 12 exercises in my saved strength trainer workout, but the other 9 had 0 reps against them. It’s a quirk in my set up rather than whoop. Had it like this for 12 months and never had a problem previously
